You and me both! Followed by working for nine years at the end of an active runway - that certainly did NOT help.

So sorry to hear that. No pun intended. I too have the embarrassment of continuously asking people to please repeat. My hearing aids help but frequently pick up sound from noise behind me. Lost much of my hearing from un mufflered old tractors, playing for several years in a rock and roll band and a lot of noise from gunfire and artillery in the military. And it's not getting better as the years go by. Hearing aids are now around $3,600 a pair. I've lost 4 so far over the years.
