Jan 6th wasn’t a riot, more of an unauthorized field trip where a couple windows got broken. There’s no comparison whatsoever between that and the BurnLootMurder riots that are still going on to this day.

I'm pretty sure it was called an insurrection, because it was intended to prevent the certification of the election results. (A legitimate government function)

That's good but some in the party you support will and the entire party you support will defend or look the other way and actually contribute to organizations specially set up to bail out rioters. Did the right defend what the far right group did on Jan. 6th? They did not. Have you heard of any organizations collecting money from Mike Pence to bail out Capital rioters.

"I" will stipulate it was a riot in that property was damaged and people were assaulted and a few souvenirs were taken.The difference is, it was a single incident, not likely to ever happen again unlike the riots yet to come from BLM and Antifa.


As far as defining an insurrection, I do believe the Capital riot falls under that description, the desire to overthrow our government as stupid and ridiculous as that is to hear said out loud. It was what I would describe as a high level insurrection with no chance of success. I also believe that many of the assaults on Federal buildings were attempts to over throw low level government entities, declaring an ongoing war against the government and law enforcement in general.


Having said all that, the big take away here IMHO is that the Capital riot was a one time event, never to be repeated would be my guess because it laid bare to the right, the absolute stupidity of the event. Unfortunately the Left believes their riots will not stop until they achieve the "justice" they demand which simply can't be achieved. The only thing that can be achieved, is that every police shooting gets a complete and open due process. Rioting is not going to help that effort, only hurt it. When Democrats decide these actions from their side are not worthy of prosecution, they "distinguish" themselves from what the right believes.
