ok so here are the protected groups -- federal jurisdiction in case of violent hate crimes perpetrated because of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical disability

granted, as a whole, Americans do not like these kinds of crimes... -- but guess what, how can justice be blind? what is the definition of federal involvement? Is it selective? How come fat people aren't protected? How much hate have you witnessed against fat people?

Also covered is "conspiracy" to commit a hate crime -- ok, now the feds are expected to be thought police -- hate crimes elevate certain crimes over another based on protected classes, and hate against an unprotected class is not as hateful? will be treated as less -- wonder why people are becoming more polarized?

another vent on obama -- always preaching against "unnamed" special interest groups, but gladly being supported many of them -- please, let us know these special interest groups, probably are the ones pushing for basic freedoms --

The only form of news I get is the morning D&C. So, that's why I stay out of these discussions. I'm not well-versed in much of anything.

Vern, you and I may not always agree, but we have always been civil with each other. Yeah, we might throw a shot at each other here and there, but we don't stoop to the level of being downright mean and nasty.
