You’re reading this wrong. People are given lots of warning that going somewhere puts their lives in danger, if they choose to do it anyways there’s nobody to blame but themselves.

And BB is certainly right. We both know that the overwhelming majority, maybe not 99% but damn close to it, are coming here for economic reasons. That is not a legitimate reason to be granted amnesty.

You're not on solid ground. Neither is he.

Slightly over 40% of asylum claims are approved annually. There have been over 700k asylum claims since 2000. And those are the ones that meet the initial threshold.

The part that shows the failure of the system is that it takes over 6 years for an asylum case to flow through the courts. Specifically the massively understaffed and underfunded immigration courts. And that can be addressed if it's resourced properly.
