First of all this is my first post on this site, so excuse me for butting into your business, but felt I had something to add. I don't think women go for "bad boys" necessarily, I think there are 5 types of women in the dating world (and girls if you don't fall into any of these you are the exception that proves the rule). First the ones that want to be taken care of financially, these are the hotties you see with the fat kid rolling around in daddy's car spending daddy's money, working for daddy. If you have no money you have no chance. Then there are those women that love drama, or have that motherly instinct. These are the ones you are specifically asking about. Its not that the dude in question is a bad boy, he probably couldn't beat his own ass; it is that she feels she needs to take care of him. Typically though, as soon as he starts to straighten out and the drama starts to cease she will move on. But as long as he is an idiot she will try to fix him. Next there are the ones that like the bad boys, usually younger women, they are looking for the thugz. They want their guy to be able to physically take care of them. Unfortunately for them these dudes typically end up in prison or dead and leave multiple women with multiple kids to fend for themselves, but have no fear the chic will find herself another one. Next we have the kitty cats (as I like to call them). They look at men as shiny new toys, but as soon as anything becomes routine they bolt. They can't help it, they are cool, you just have to enjoy them while you got them and then let them go when they bail. A sure way to end this relationship is to make her think that you think she is special. She will be gone in a heart beat. Then there are the women that actually have the self esteem and confidence it takes to not "need" someone to take care of them. This is the type of woman you want. She is not going to freak out on you for hanging with your boys, she will probably be hanging with her girls. She loves you, but she can live without you. She can support herself, but appreciates and respects what you do. These women are awesome, because there is no drama and she accepts you the way you are. These women are typically at least 25 (if educated) but more commonly in their 30s. They have at one point in time been one of the other classes but have had a revelation and realized that life is a lot more fun when you lose the drama, the uncertainty of whether or not he will make it home, or they get tired of Richie Riches dropping them for a newer model.

First of all welcome! Very insightful. I'm sure all of us are looking forward to your reviews as well. Now we need a provider to weigh in and assess and give us the FIVE kind of guys we have. This ought to be interesting!

Im #5 but was one of the 1-4 many moons ago. I didnt know any better back then..

I think my independence scares most men.. they are looking for one that "needs" them. Ones that are "attracted' to me anyways..

And I would say men have the same as the 1-5 for the women, just a bit of variation.

its not just Providers, one of my dear friends an A+ College graduate came from a good family of no drugs or any type of abuse and she was in 7 year marriage that was doomed from day one yet she kept in it...she told me she knew it was bad but yet she kept trying to make it work..

Understood but not the issue at hand I'm afraid. I can see once someone makes a life long commitment to do everything in their power to make it work. The real issue is why do gals CHOOSE to have a relationship, cohabitate and marry these bad boys? There is a thought process that states people don't change. Totally incorrect. I'll prove it! When you are 20 do you have all the same needs, wants and desires as when you 30, 40 or 50. No way! If you look back at the landscape of your life, about every five years things just seem to change. Once they do we become different people.
