There is loss in any static production of either electricity or gas. Non use or evaporation, or loss during transmission happens with all of them. The thing about a power grid that is interconnected, is that it's monitored hourly, by the minute etc, and production can ebb and flow as needed and there is a relatively instant response to increased demand. Gasoline that requires a lot more manipulation like refining and transport has higher costs post production but can be more portable per gas filling stations. The cost of transferring a raw resource like oil to gasoline is more expensive than either running a coal or gas fired electric turbine.

So you can pick your poison when it's comes to ease of access vs. cheaper. Energy or potential to do work as stored potential is a better comparison. I'd say gasoline has a better stores potential but for only a finite amount of time, as does a battery. So in the end, EVs will likely be a better solution as battery technology evolves & gets better n better. All new technology costs more upfront but those costs will come down eventually too. Imagine having to not rely on gasoline as a daily staple expense and not being held hostage to capitalistic markets with high elasticity in pricing. There's only one reason ppl still use gasoline for cars, -lack of new technology and ingenuity, and oil companies influence in industry.

... And THAT is WHY America surely NEEDS to be ENERGY INDEPENDENT!

So America can then make the decisions to see if battery-powered
vehicles can be a reality for most people... IF so, you're
surely gonna need Nuclear power and fusion... Need to get
started with THAT... Not the foolish "Green" push.

Look at Putin - Russia CONTROLS all the ENERGY! ... Hello?!

Got control of Europe - Putin can make their natural gas
disappear into thin air! ... And as far as Europe and
America's oil goes - Putin's got everybody over a barrel!

And it's REALLY no laughing matter.

WHICH IS WHY - America FIRST must push for Energy Independence.

Of course, if there wasn’t loss we could build perpetual motion machines and all our power problems would disappear overnight. What I’m driving at is that if you’re going to burn natural gas to make electricity to power cars, you’re better off just running the car off natural gas and skipping the energy lost through conversion and transmission. I don’t think there’s any disputing that.

Chevy sold Natgas Sonics in Europe, but not here, with easy access to natural gas, it was ready to go many places here.

But no, that would make sense, so, instead we'll use minerals dug by children in Africa or slaves in China.

The problem is in the running a car off the natural gas which is becoming a global commodity with exporting. Prices will go up and down w market fluctuating. -The same reason we don't like gasoline prices. Cars that gain energy from a static grid and fixed rates (primarily) solves most of this. But yes I agree that we need to get off of gasoline. Whether it's as I suggested prior putting many nuke plants on the grid for public usage or perhaps fusion if it becomes commercially viable, then we are no longer energy slaves to other countries or large corporate greed machines.

Jumping to conclusions again I see. You and Salty already made it clear that if I'm the messenger you will go in the complete opposite direction.

Hence the need for you to come to the conclusion on your own.

What if we should go back to transportation via rickshaws, pulled by children and poor people?

Not enough energy density in the kids. Too many labor laws.

I know what you said, and as usual you miss the point and declared a win, but not quite.

You're the horse. I can take you to the stream. I can't make you drink. You have to choose to do it, because you're stubborn.

Or to Jesus this up a bit... we're teaching you to fish instead of just feeding you.

We've neglected to pay attention to the news out of the UAE encouraging other OPEC nations to increase oil production. Brent dropped quite a bit today.

Will Saudi take up the call?

You look sillier with each successive post. Obviously you are incapable of making your point and continue to prove it. It really would be quite sad if it wasn't so laughable

Prices over past year thanks to Senile Biden:

Brent crude oil: +78%

WTI crude oil: +80%

Natural gas: +63%

High gas prices are all part of Senile Biden's plan.

Watch this great montage:

There's a trend here. And I need you to see it because it's like a magic eye image where you're not seeing the picture because your eyes need to do the work not be told.
