Why can't a Mod come in here and clarify their actions....after all they have entered this thread for intimidation purposes...."Asking wjhy we close threads, leads to points!" WTF is up with that shit? There sure seems to be a whole lotta double speak in these two threads...

You need to read what was actually said and not just go by what WTF says was said. Always.

No one was told they could not question why it was closed. Darth simply said that when threads appear questioning why a thread was closed, people usually end up with points. And that is true. It is not, however, because people are questioning the closing of the thread. It is because people start breaking guidelines in the discussion. Usually because of remarks to others where they can not stay civil. The points usually have nothing to do with the thread itself.
On the other thread, it was re-opened and discussion continued. After another 100 posts, nothing was resolved except the OP decided to change her showcase to address WTF's question. That question had been the entire focus of those 100 posts posts, except for the insulting remarks, the hijacking posts away from the subject at all and the disrespect shown by numerous posters to others.
The thread had become a point magnet. People were making the thread about things which had nothing to do with it. People received points and just bitched about it. Then, a couple of days or so later, started doing it all again.
The thread was out of control, people would not stay on topic and people were getting multiple point violations. The burning question of the other thread had been addressed. This thread was available for anyone to take their vitriol to, and they did.
This is just a quick synopsis of what I was seeing as a mod. I am sure that there will be a lot of discussion of what I have just said. Any word a mod says is put under a microscope to determine in what ways it can be twisted to make the mod staff look bad and cause drama on the board.
And that is why you do not see a lot of explanations of why something is done on the board. And why you will wait a long time, mostly likely, to see the next explanation from me. If you wonder why, just read the posts that end up following this one.

At one point after the threAD was reopened...the op added to the topic of the threAD and that fact conflicts with what you speak of above.
In addition, you decided to hand me points for "Thread Hijack" when in fact my comments were 100% on topic to the op's most recent post.
It went down as summarized below. So today you should voluntarily take the points back, or come back here and do your best to publicly defend that what you did was proper. Feel free to go read the other comments by dearhunter and the others to get you in the mood.
