I do not shout it from the top of the roofs that i am an escort, hooker or whatever. I am simply from europe, where this profession is not illegal. And i mean i am all for protecting your beliefs, and i never said being a courtesan is different to being a hooker, that is other people pretending , not me. Spreading legs for money is mostly all there is too it. Anyone pretending that its about more than that, well :-) haha. There are political activists out there - in the USA - where everyone knows they have been or are sexworkers. They do life coaching now. So life cannot be so bad working this job if you are in the right enviroment. I for example am a psychologist catering to the needs of alternative lifestyles. So - being an escort is kind of the entrance to that life. And i worked hard for that life too. I would NEVER EVER acquire a job where they don`t take me because they are conservative nuts. Sorry, no do. And i don`t REALLY want to live in HOUSTON. :-)) So i agree not everyone needs to know, that is right. But i disagree to keep even close friends out of the loop and therefor abuse them. And anyway, if you regard this profession as so dangerous for your "real life" then why are you doing it? I do it in a combination of my work ethics and as a psychologist who caters to individuals who live alternative lifestyles no one can make a burden out of this one.
I don`t want to be an attorney :-)), and if i can`t handle the negative side effects why be in it anyway? If i am planning to be a professional in an area where such information matters then i simply would not take the risk. There are other ways of financing a career too. And believe me, in an internet based world of escorting (or being a hooker as you call it) it does not matter if you show your face or not. You are doomed anyways. Everyone knows what you are doing anyway. Even if people blurr the heck out of their faces they are still recognisable. I don`t really need to show my face. I have a very distinctive tattoo :-). I know many other escorts too, who have a profession where being an escort is not a bad thing. In fact the writer of this belle de jour blog did not have any negative side effects either when someone outed her identity. So - its not all like you pointed it out :-). you can use this job as advantage too. Besides, after a while you should have shuffled up so much money, that it does not matter anymore what anyone thinks. And in the USA Porn stars are like any other people aren`t they?

Let me break it down so you can understand...it's none of your business why I or anyone else does things! If I am not proud to be screwing other people's husbands and feel the need to protect my family and my career, that's my business. It's a job not my LIFE, so I don't feel the need to bring my work home with me so to speak. BTW where did you read me refer to myself as a courtesan? I have NEVER called myself a courtesan, hdh, or even classy, because I know the modern world is laughing their butts off at that notion when it comes out of the mouth of someone who screws random strangers.

You are in la la land to think that if a teacher, nurse, doctor, whatever was exposed for doing this in the U.S. that she/he would not make the news and be fired. You can use a google button for those FACTS. I don't want my dad knowing his little girl is a freaking hooker...geez talk about a stab in the heart! It's not only about ME...I care more about those who love me, than to make them have to deal with this. I keep my business private...end of story. who says i don`t acquire my wisdom from life itself? The political activists i am talking about are from the USA. And they have jobs too. So somehow they must have made it work out for themselves. But i agree that if you are not proud of what you are doing then its better not to be active about it. I personally think being an escort is something to be proud about, because without us marriages woudl not last so long and things within society would be not so catalyst. I think we live in a sex negative enviroment - for the most part - and escorts do something to let people survive without being damaged in that enviroment. My point being was initially that people are not as "individual" as they might think they are. By being submissive to a set of roles pointed out to you (and i am submissive to some set of roles too, just not heteronormative ones) you loose individuality. That was my point.
My point was not judging people who do what they do for reasons they do it.

So -. i did not want to offend you in any way, if i did, i am sorry for it.

But what i want to say is that people should generally be more realistic about things. And pointing out "we are so individual" and "can`t be generally judged" is just wrong, when we all can be. We all live in a world where being an escort is seen a certain way. So yes, our reactions are similar, most of us "don`t shout from the rooftops" what we are doing. That has the reason because we are not all INDIVIDUALS making INDEPENDENT CHOICES. No one can make independent choices. I am careful too about giving people that information, you are right about that. Its easier to say i am a psychologist then to say i am a hooker. But some people i tell that information too, for example my parents, friends and potential partners all KNOW. Anyone else i give a rats ass about, so yes, i do protect that sphere too.

I am not native english speaker so if you can speak german, spanish, italian or russian as well as i speak english then i am proud of you (and that if you are not mother tongue educated). If you find some grammar mistakes you can point them out to me i am happy to learn. When did i tout my education? Just because i told that i am psychologist by stating that marriages with kids are better off divorced if unhappy? And what does lack of grammar have to do with education? Do you think you are better educated because your grammar is correct? Then you are certainly not very educated :-)

I'm sorry that women who voice their opinions can't exist in these forums without being degraded in this way.
