Yes, Irving Kristol did coin the term neoconservative but I speak of the word "neocon" which was used by Michael Harrington as an insult. Harrington used it to indicated a connection between conservatives and zionists. I have no problem with the former but the latter is an insult just as Longermonger intended.
I will point to the gay community and the basket of words that, depending on the context and speaker, are either neutral or an insult. Longer meant it as an insult so now he has to own everything it stands for.
