I really, really don't care whether you think I'm Hispanic or not. Just like I don't care that the moderator tasked with monitoring this thread had no idea what the word meant. All I really care about is the fact that you are allowed to say something that leads to a further understanding of who someone is with immunity. That's what this whole exercise has been about.
Like I said, I'm out with my family and friends. It doesn't matter to me. A lot of the things I do and say on here have little or no bearing on my life. Trey thinks I'm a Mexican. You're convinced I'm garden variety white chick. Others think I'm a total bitch. And others thank me for the shit I stir because they either can't say it themselves or because they enjoy the show as much as I do. None of that changes the bottom line and that is that my mother was indeed born in South America.
Just to help you out though. You are aware, world traveler that you are, there are whole populations and even nations that aren't Mestizo or mullatos right in South America and the Caribbean right? One can be a native English speaker in some of them and / or can have blue eyes and blond hair. The little town my house is in in Mexico has, what has to be a statistical anemology, a ton of unrelated, red headed and freckled people. None of that changes the country of origin.
