Maybe because after 73 years, a "reasonable" person just might come to the conclusion that continuing to fight, with no improvement to your life and no prospects for your children, you just might want to try peace but apparently that doesn't work with fanatics who shout "we are not afraid to die". I say, give them what they want and get it over with.
Imagine what a "reasonable" group of people could have built in Gaza if revenge and death wasn't so appealing to them.

don't know if you're aware, gaston is talking about another group. this is about israel's discriminatory housing policies towards arabs in east Jerusalem. theres a group trying to evict an arab family from their home whom they've lived for years.
this is apparently what set off Hama's dummy missile barrage.

Well, specifically what set off this specific assault were the Jews attacking Arabs who were in houses of worship during Ramadan. The Arabs weren't gonna take it lying down, so it turned into brawls, which turned into riots, which had police forces raiding and clearing houses of worship during a holy period, and Arabs getting killed.
Hamas decided it wasn't gonna stand the the infringement on their freedom of religion and attacked.

I wish I had a copy of the letter to the editor I sent to my Jewish friend explaining why those Arabs were being removed from their home because they had refused to pay rent. It wasn't about the State of Israel removing Arabs to seize land or at least that's another version of the story.
