Judging from KBJ’s answers before the committee, it doesn’t take much in the way of intelligence to be a lawyer. Heck, it doesn’t take much in the way of intelligence to go to Law School, and graduate.

There is a test for how to tell if a dog is intelligent for it’s species by throwing* a towel over it and see how many minutes it takes the dog to get out from under it.

If someone did that to KBJ, let’s just say you would probably have to call the fire department to get her out.

She clerked for a SC Justice which is a major accomplishment. I didn’t. We both were federal lawyers so we’re even there. She’s been a federal judge and will be a Supreme Court justice. It seems every person at some point in their life has had an ugly run-in with a lawyer. Doctors are afraid they’ll get sued for malpractice. Corporations are afraid they’ll get served with a notice for violating public regulations. Married couples fear the day they will have to turn to a divorce attorney. While there are surely some people who uphold moral values in this profession, lawyers have some pretty negative associations
