WDF, you make it sound as if gay marriage was a settled civil rights issue. It's not. Up until a few weeks ago, your beloved President Obama was opposed to it, until he learned he could scrounge up some campaign cash if he changed his mind.
It will take time for this concept to evolve. Long held beliefs do not change overnight. Like I said in that other thread, the best way to break down those old beliefs is for the gay community to show the anti-gay marriage crowd that they pose no threat, and are normal, family type people, who simply love someone of the same sex as them. Other than that, no real difference.
That will go a lot farther than calling them "Haaa-ters!" and trying to close them down.
Your position is, "Yeah, let's beat them until they learn to be tolerant." Good idea.

I couldn't have said it better myself, WTF! These Teapublican Hobbyists and Providers practice a lifestyle that is condemned by the right yet celebrate the same reactionary discrimination and rhetoric that would see them convicted, fined and/or incarcerated and ostracized for their own behavior.
What two-faced morons and idiotic supporters of those who would see their lifestyles severely abridged!
It just proves the country is still full of enough right wing reactionary idiots to support the very people who are working so hard to restrict all our freedoms.
Congratulations on being too dumb to see your own stupidity!

I'm sure it wasn't the color difference they objected to, Bullcorn! It was your stupidity they were protecting her from experiencing.

COG, I agree with you.
I did not support Rham knee jerk reaction. So you have misstated my position. Had I supported Rham, then you would be correct.
What I did not agree with was the support for Mr Chick business. A business that gives money supporting the supression of another's right to marry. Supporting his right to free speech is different in my view than supporting his business that donates money to the supression of others.
Like I have said, had he been giving money to keep Jews from marrying, the reaction would be different IMHO.
So to be clear.
I did not support Rham.
I support Mr Chick's right to free speech.
I no longer support his business.
I understand Rham's (and others) reaction. I do not agree with them but I understand
I understand Mr Chick's POV. I do not agree with him but I understand Bibicial teaching and how that can override anothers Civil Rights. I do not support it but I understand. I am sure Mr Chick is a fine man but on this point he is wrong from a equality POV.
I hope that helps with you from continuing misstating my position. I do agree with you that change takes time but it takes much longer when good people tolerate mistreatment of others by talking past each other. That is wtf we have been doing IMHO.
Have a good day COFuc!

Those with a heart condition - beware LOL.
Good thing I read this thread through before responding to you. I fear we were about to have another I agree with everything you say/said but ended up arguing moment LOL.
Yes, you are 100% right. Except, I think he spells his name Mr. Chic, at least I like to think of him that way.
I really am tired of the right using their uptight Christian "morals" and the left using their "moral" outrage to divide the rest of us that are floating in the middle. This is just one more example of PC run a muck and hurting far more than it helps.

No, it's not his kind of picket line. It's simply more of his 90% mockery bullshit.

Now I know what Obama feels like when he's mocked for using a teleprompter by people who use a teleprompter.

Voting with your ballot and wallet. That is the american way. I suspect that your position would have received much more support and the chick fil a event would have been trivial had the politicians stayed out of it.
Given a little more time mr chick fil a's opinion will probably become the minority opinion. Hopefully, the libs will learn that some of the radical idiots on their side do more harm than good.
Finally, franchise owners are independent businessmen that do not necessarily agree with the corporate management. They get hurt the most by this nonsense, or in this case helped, so if you like the product you might want to consider that.
