It is hard to find accurate numbers on crowd estimates of how many people overall were in attendance at the Jan 6 protest. I have seen estimates from 300,000 to a 2 million or more. But for sake of argument, lets go with the low end of 300,000.

How many of those people actually entered Congress - a couple hundred perhaps. How many of those who entered were actually armed - by the last arrest reports I saw, less than 20. But hell, lets say for sake of argument 50 were armed. That would be 50 out of the low end attendance estimate of 300,000. You are talking 0.0167%

That is the definition of basically unarmed.

The vast majority of the crowd was there for the rally and to peacefully protest the results. Unfortunately there were a small group of idiots there who wanted to take things further. Those idiots who caused violence should face penalties under the law just as any BLM idiots who caused violence all summer should have.
