Four to Eight weeks that's a promising prognosis in my opinion.

I think some people who regard themselves as high risk will continue wearing a mask and practice social distancing for a long time even after it's confirmed it's no longer necessary.

I just wear the masks now. Where I live, most places won't even let you inside if you are not wearing one. I didn't wear a mask for the longest time but now, I have no choice but to do so. It's no big deal now to me. I was defiant, but if people feel more comfortable if I walk by them while wearing a mask, it's fine by me. I'll just wear a mask. I prefer not to wear one, but I understand the concern from others, so I'll just wear a mask and skip the drama of not wearing one. I prefer not to wear one but it is what it is and I'll play by the rules.

Yeah , I know what you mean. I have a few that I've been alternating. After 15 to 30 minutes of wear I soak them in very hot water and soap for thirsty minutes or so and gently wring them out and hang them up to dry. I also wash my face when I return home after wearing one. I wonder how many people fail to do that. While in a grocery store you are touching items that others probably also handled inadvertently you may touch your mask to adjust it, I do because it fogs my glasses so after use I wash my face. Iam just as concerned with Bacteria exposure.

There are a lot of Asians where I live so I just decided to conform. They all wear masks so an asshole like me who didn't wear one just freaked them out. They would stare at me like I was an alien. I never thought I would give in to peer pressure, but I did. LOL

I do the same. I'm definitely taking this more seriously than I did before. Once these athletes started to come down with the virus, my on only thought was "these dudes are young and in great shape and even they are coming down with this shit." That's when my thought process changed because I've never even had the flu before and I realized it could get much worse if I'm not careful.

All signs are pointing to this virus becoming endemic, taking the lives of a portion of the population every year. The antibodies developed post-infection may not even last long enough for a vaccine to be viable anytime soon. At what point does the medical and hospital system permanently boost up their capacity to take on severe COVID-19 cases, and stop relying on the public to adhere to strict social distancing and mandatory mask usage, to keep the curve flat and not strain their system?

Here is the thing
Unlike in the movies-- most viruses will mutate into slightly weaker versions of themselves. Why? Because it does not benefit the virus to kill the host. This virus isn't going anywhere soon-- but we're going to notice better overall prognoses and better treatment regiments-- and eventually lower levels of hospitalization. The death rate is already dropping as we get better at managing treatment of the varying functions of the disease.
Thats.... the good news.
The bad news is that from what I'm reading and seeing-- the quest for a vaccine may be borderline pointless. I already have two folks that I know personally that are in round 2 (meaning, they got better-- then got sick again a few weeks later).. and antibody tests suggest that post infection immunity might not last more than 3-4 months at best. Other research suggests possibilities that this is going to be along the lines of EBV-- with the risks of relapse for some folks.
We'll eventually see some homeostasis-- but its not going to be as quick as we would like or as clean as we might like. The weaker and more immune compromised will be wearing masks for the next year-- if not longer, depending on the advancements in treating the illness.

Flu season will be upon us and anyone with "flu symptoms" will be booked as a Covid19 patient for funding purposes. Customarily people aren't dying of Covid19, but of complications created with pre-existing conditions aggravated by the virus. It has to do with the existing immune system and how weak it is initially to resist the spread in the body and how the pre-existing condition reduces the body's ability to resist.

Most everyone I know who has dealt with COVID-- will regretfully tell you that flu and COVID are nothing alike. There are also folks who have died with 0 pre-existing conditions. Same can be said for the flu--- sometimes the immune system just goes haywire.

Well ... if you've been able to discuss the effects with them ...
... they survived!
Again, you spout off like you're the only one with any experiences!
The "immune system" doesn't just go "haywire"! People have conditions/diseases within their system that retards or destroys the immune system ... they often don't even realize it or elect not to discuss it with anyone outside of their physicians.
I swear ... there some ladies on here who perceive themselves to be "all-knowing" because they sell pussy ...
.... or a lip job occasionally!
Back to wearing masks or not wearing them!
There are only 2 reasons I wear one .... so I can get into the store/business in which I wish to enter AND to give others some level of comfort when I pass them. A mask doesn't keep me from catching anything ... except my own breath, which I must partially rebreathe creating a slight oxygen deficiency each time I rebreathe it.
That reminds me of eating pussy and then wearing a condom so I won't catch anything!

Lets get back to privacy and masks.
Think about this: Is not covid is the perfect excuse to wear a mask to defeat facial recognition software comparison.

I just buy disposible masks and throw them out - they are down to about 30-40 cents each now.
Otherwise, unless it is a gorgeous girl, I've always practiced social distancing and basic infection and virus mitigation tactics. I never liked shaking hands anyway because have you ever noticed half the motherfuckers out there do not even wash their hands leaving public restrooms?
Filthy faggots!

I recall the days of "Do Not Enter with a Mask on" signs.
And I suppose you are referencing such events as:
The "Pre-Covid19" Days!

I love the assumption that ladies are stupid and have no knowledge outside of tits and ass. You quite literally have no clue what I do for a living or what my level of expertise is. But please, do go on. I'm sure all the boys are riveted by your keen analysis. Meanwhile, the RPT is in absolute turmoil-- but lets continue worrying about differing opinions on a SHMB
