I'm jumping back to work quickly, but two aspects of Liberalism have contributed "substantially" to the "kids problem" in this country: (1) taking over the school systems in which "kids" spend the vast majority of their time in their formative years, and (2) the separate justice system created to address their disobedience, but actually instructs them that the criminal justice system doesn't work!
The "parents" have been on the sidelines for years ... at jobs...or getting divorces.

Yes, I actually gave Obama credit for pointing the need for missing/deadbeat parents to be involved and him suggesting "Dads" needed to step up and take responsibility and be involved in their children's lives. That a good core family is what was needed.
Unfortunately he never really pushed the message and was if I remember panned by some liberals for even saying it.
The education system has create this "nanny state" to detriment of many youths.
One of the few positives of the pandemic is that many families are coming closer together. My fear is what the fallout of the dysfunctional family units is going to be as a result.

it was a clarification.

#1: There is a difference in standards. #2: the "search" is much different from a practical point of view. Both depend upon the reason for the initial stop and what occurred immediately after the initial stop.
They don't HAVE to have a search warrant to search his car, either.
The SCOTUS established an exception to the general rule long ago. The departures have been based primarily on the changes in the mobility of our society, which has to do with vehicles. Just like departures had to be made for electronic devices...phones etc.
|
whatever you say lxl
i'm aware of the exception.
you need a probable cause to do it. but they still can't search it without a search warrant unless (exceptions) they see blood, or contraband lying out open on the seat, or smell an odor coming from the vehicle.
the vehicle is an extension of the house, however, understand that there are exceptions to this.

I boot my teenage sons out every day. GTFO and ride dirt bikes, cut a neighbors grass, whatever but you’re not sitting around playing Xbox all day.

No the vehicle IS NOT an extension of the house! Geeezzzzz...
You don't need a search warrant to search the vehicle.....at the scene of an arrest and/or incident involving someone driving the vehicle. And you don't need "probable cause" to check the vehicle .... the case law refers to it (based on a SCOTUS case out of Minnesota) as a "pat down" search of the motor vehicle. Texas state cases recognize the cursory search of the MV for the officer's safety as well as the protection of property/evidence ....
Do you know how long it takes to get a search warrant from beginning to end (at least on the average) or have you ever been involved in any phase of the process .... we ain't talking TV shows!
Now ... if the driver is arrested (taken into custody) and transported to jail ... what is done with the vehicle .... by the police?
I won't even address that silly remark!

you don't need probable cause, and Cops abuse that shit to an extreme.. last Monday I watched 3 hours of COPS on TV (yeah, I was bored), it was almost all drug busts from drivers who were pulled over for tail light infractions, no turn signal.. Bullshit stuff. the Cops "knew" they had the power to search on that flimsy authority, and did.. found pipes, drug paraphernalia, a small vile of Meth.. every arrested person said "it's not mine", the usual bullshit, but the Cops knew better.. the Cops had the power, but fuck, these were hapless down-and-outs, not criminals.. if they were in their own house, doing a quote "legal" drug, all would be fine.. stupid.. one Dude was arrested in his fucking yard, in Amarillo, for weed.. if his ass was a few miles down the road, in Colorado, no problem.

LOL. Their mother has primary custody so I'll just disappear after I put all of the blame on her if one of them turns out to be a psycho. I've always wanted to live in Nice, France anyway so I'll just move there and become a ghost.

They tow it to the pound and do an inventory of the contents of the vehicle. Illegal items found during this process are admissible evidence.

I removed the violations in your post so I wouldn't get banned ...
....but left in the ignorant rant ....
Ted Bundy was arrested THE LAST TIME because of a busted taillight led to a check on the vehicle he was driving.
Chan, just in case you don't know who that is (was):
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Bundy
Chan, it is regrettable that you believe lawlessness is ok. Also, I hope you don't use the "Cops on TV" shows as your source of "information" and "facts"! But since you do ... did you see anyone hanging around at a traffic stop for a "search warrant"? (Hint: the shows don't last that long!)

Correct with this modification ....
An officer at the scene does a Vehicle Inventory, which, if done correctly, is a careful SEARCH of the entire vehicle, including any spare tire well, pockets and compartments, and thoroughly beneath and behind seats .... which includes the trunk, if any! All valuables and contraband are removed, placed in containers, and tagged to be submitted to the department property room and the arrestee/driver gets a copy of the inventory.
Since that SEARCH is mandatory by departmental policy and therefore LAWFUL irrespective of the legality of the arrest any items considered evidence and/or potential evidence of ANY CRIME may be admissible against the person or persons in possession of it, which means in the vehicle.

I wonder what would have happen if it was reversed. If the guy shot was white and the guy that does the shooting was black. It would have been a different outcome from the start. Unless you are black you guys have no idea whats its like to be black. It dosent matter if you are a VIP of a successful company or homeless. That jogger could have been any black guy out for a jog. I have looked into a new construction home before not to steal anything but just out of curiosity and look at the type of work been done.

Is it safe to assume if it is later found by a court that no probable cause existed for the original arrest that any evidence seized from that resulting in arrest would also be inadmissible, and any charges dependent upon the fruit of that poisonous tree would also be dropped?

Yes I have visited such sites to look around and if they are not locked down I consider it an invitation to look. So, if the guy stole nothing, that wasn't a crime.
You have no idea what it is like to be white, either.
Every government agency wants to hire anyone but us, and the news is a constant drumbeat about how racist we all are.
You don't need to worry about the racists - because they will likely hate you anyway. What you need to worry about are those who would be sympathetic to the egregious acts of racism out there but are so fatigued from constantly being called racist they end up not caring.

for some reason you think I didn't know Cops could do a search without a warrant during traffic stops.. everyone knows that they can. doesn't mean they should abuse the authority. and you consider minor drug possession to be "lawlessness"? God Damn, you are to the right of Atilla the Hun.

"lawlessness" - advocating summary punishment ala sharia law for a person accused of assaulting an elderly nursing home patient.
