To be fair to Obama, I expected this.
All that hope 'n change was just too polished and bullshit for me. Real hope and change is going to be raw and homegrown, like a true grassroots movement. His spectacle just felt like a rock concert, not even a good rock concert.
I find him fascinating though as a person. I don't have hate for any president to be honest. They all strike me as figureheads for institutions or elites. I'm more concerned about the people in the shadows.
He might suffer from anti-social personality disorder. He does have an interesting way of talking. I find it relaxing and discordant at the same time.
The bigger issue once again is the media. I sort of expect our presidents to be either corrupt or phonies to a certain degree, but I feel like the media is more criminal in how they choose to frame certain things or follow certain narratives. Thankfully with the Internet I can go to blogs or sites that go beyond the basic bullshit. However I do worry with the Fed's desire to regulate the internet more that things will become homogenized after awhile.

That Mother Fucker past legislation that took away bonuses in my former line of work and could potentially cost me anywhere from 10k to 20K. Thank God I worked for a very honorable company and they are trying to make sure they figure a way to still pay the ones that are gone. They have also made pay structure that is good for the employees still there instead of using it as an excuse not to have to pay their people what they have earned already. Most of the other companies like mine just stopped paying bonus before the law was even in place 9 months ago and that screwed a lot of people. Government should not be allowed to dictate how a private company pays their employees. FYI these are not at any way related to companies that received government bailouts. I just hope that bastard is just a one term president.
Sorry for venting. I talked to my ex boss and that shit just pisses me off what those crooks in Washington D.C. get away with...

Lets blame the president for everything
Nice and simple
Lets vote a new person in; & watch the miracle as everything changes!!! yaay!!!
The political system with lobbyist's money is propping up all our congressmen & senators. They are all as white as snow.
Our tax laws are so complicated, corporations can employ legions of lawyers to find the loopholes. Hey they are not breaking the law, till we find examples like Enron
The bankers we invest our money with are all making bonuses bigger than their annual salaries, while they bundled off bad loans as investments with a AAA rating
Corporations like GE continue to outsource work and draw down on employees in the US; during the last recession, many companies let US employees go & kept or added work force in outsourced countries. American companies are letting down American workers; but business is business
Robber Barons are living a good life in the name of capitalism; Your & my tax dollars baled out all these irresponsible robber barons since the system would collapse if we did not. Most of them still have millions stashed away. & how many million do you have?
Remember that Houston senator that was livid that the president muscled BP to pony up cash up front after the oil spill? He called it arm twisting? The watchdog agency that was supposed to regulate big oil was in bed with them....I believe under GW's watch
The whole system is set up for failure, but we like to hate one

Great idea - let's just MAKE UP a medical diagnosis and try to have him removed from office based on the wisdom of a bunch of guys on a SHMB.

Did President Eisenhower lie to the American people about anything? No.
Did Jimmy Carter lie to the American people about anything? No.
Did Herbert Hoover lie to the American people about anything? No.
Did Ronald Reagan lie to the American people about anything? Sometimes.
Did Richard Nixon lie to the American people about anything? Occasionally.
Did Gerald Ford lie to the American people about anything? Never.
Did John Kennedy lie to the American people about anything? Nope
Did Lyndon Johnson lie to the American people about anything? Yes, about Vietnam
Did Harry Truman lie to the American people about anything? Once, about the reasons for using the atomic bomb
Did FDR lie to the American people about anything? Occassionally
Did George H. Bush lie to the American people about anything? Rarely
Did Bill Clinton lie to the American people about anything? Yes but only about sex.
Did George W. Bush lie to the American people about anything? Yes all the time about his basic philosophy of government pretending to be a conservative when he was nothing of the kind, about specific programs he said he would launch then never even tried, and the reasons for starting and continuing several foreign wars of which Iraq and Afghanistan are only two.
Did Barak Obama ever lie to the American people? Yes about his basic philosophy of government pretending to be a progressive when in fact he's not, about his intentions for reversing military commitments, detentions, the Patriot Act, his entire national security philosophy, his entire domestic agenda, his entire civil rights agenda, etc. etc.
It's not true that all politicians lie and that all Presidents lie.
It's just not true.
The fact that most people expect it today reflects the extreme cynicism this society has accepted which other generations would never have tolerated. A moral decay.

Just like this one doesn't. Gas won’t be $5 per gallon on Memorial Day.
He said that the long term and short-term solutions won't do the questioner any good (The questioner with 10 kids; not a whole lot of 12 passenger vehicles around) this week. He told him the truth. BTW, if you can’t afford gas for 2 SUVs, why do you have 10 children? Planned Parenthood could help there. (They (PP) never claimed they gave mammograms. They refer people to where one can be gotten. If you realized how much one of those machines cost, you would understand why every PP office doesn’t have it or the high priced labor needed to run it correctly and interpret the results.) The President isn’t raising prices. Capitalism, or supply and demand is going to drive the cost of oil up. As China puts more and more cars on the road etc, they are one reason. The US is already the number 3 oil producing country, after Saudi Arabia and Russia. We are the largest consumer of oil by a long ways. Oil wells drilled tomorrow will take approx 15-22 years to come fully on line. While electric cars are the transport of the future, cars with large battery capacity will never be very practical. Fuel cells will generate on board electricity to run the cars. Liquid hydrogen will fuel them and our existing network of gas stations can be "retrofitted" to dispense the fuel. The byproduct of running a fuel cell is water. It will take energy to separate the H2 from the O2 before pumping it into the cars. No free lunch. If we could emulate the French in one way, it would be to build the small, uniform nukes like they do. They are of proven design and the parts are interchangeable. The aren't 2 nukes in the US that are built in the same configuration. Certification and safety records are poor.
Tired of typing now. The bottom line is that there are no easy, simple solutions to any of these problems. Energy prices are going up for various reasons. Because Pres. Obama wants them to is not a reason. Not a whole lot of cap and trade going on.
Trying to solve these issues as democrats or republicans will have a very predictable result. So will trying to solve them as Americans. @ 180 degree difference in results.

I find it ironic you bring up moral decay in this forum. It is more ironic that you make sweeping statements that anyone who has been alive during these Presidency's can refute many of your statements off the top of their heads.
Gulf of Tonkin, Watergate, Irangate, Monica, Mission Acomplished?
Even if campaign promises can't all be kept, that doesn't mean they were lying.
I'll tell you what, you prove the statements about Pres. Obama that you have made, with specific examples, and I'll give specifics and examples about lies the other Presidents have made....except Truman and Carter. If you read any one of numerous accounts, Truman had the bombs dropped to keep us from losing over a million US soldiers invading the home islands.

Unemployment has not improved much either most of which may only have gotten part time jobs that used to be in full time jobs. He has only increased more Government jobs like IRS. Those IRS jobs will get paid an incentive on how much they collect in fines if you do not have health INS.
I have been a Republican since I was in grade school. I am starting to lead towards the Libertarian side now. Less Government telling me what I can and can't do. If you like the way a total stranger spends your money give the government your pay check and I am sure it will always have a negative balance.

Funny, as Obama has spent the least money of any President since before Reagan. What I also find interesting is that if spending is an issue for you, then why are you Republican? Republican's outspend Democrats BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS.

As for the economic recovery...
Gotta just love cold, hard facts don't ya?

It really just depends on what site you are getting it from. This site here:
http://blog.heritage.org/?p=4210
has completely different charts and data then wikipedia. After all, anyone can edit wikipedia which is why one is not allowed to use wikipedia as a source when writing a paper.
Anyway, all I can say is Obama is killing us doctors here.

Finally someone speaks with a brain...
I love how people post up links as a resource and make claim that it is the absolute truth. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone yet everyone on this site like to post links from wikipedia as there source.

You know, even wikipedia is better than just shooting from (slightly lower than) the hip. It indicates that someone's taken the time to try and find corroboration for his/her points in a debate. Everything on WIKIPEDIA is sourced in the bibliography below. You can't quote wikipedia in a paper, true, but you can certainly click the link and quote the source of each statement on there for inclusion in a bibliography. What kind of BS is that? (if you say the unbelievable kind, you win!)
Now if you look closely at the information contained in F-sharp's post, you'll see, in tiny little print that each of those graphs are sourced not by WIKIPEDIA (which is a collection of contributions and NOT a source) but links to the U.S. Treasury Department and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even has dates.
OK, maybe you know something they don't. But I'm guessing official stats certainly qualify as source material here.
So what's the problem? I remember Vice President Spiro Agnew's great battle with the news media (which actually WAS held to a standard of accuracy back then); whenever he couldn't refute an accusation or claim, he simply called the media a bunch of liars. Easy way out. And of course, Agnew was shown the door sooner rather than later; forced to resign in shame, after indictments on extortion, conspiracy and bribery charges. HE ATTACKED THE MEDIA AND THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ALL THE WAY. Nixon gave him up to shut him up.
BTW -- even quoting from a blog (THE WORST SOURCE FOR REAL INFO) is better than shooting from (slightly lower than) the hip. The Heritage Foundation is slightly to the right of Atilla the Hun, imho.

And how is Obama hurting "you doctors here?" I attended one or two health care reform townhalls and heard contrasting stories from doctors about the proposed reform package. Oddly, those opinions seemed to vary by specialty. I'm guessing you're a radiologist, dermatologist or some other kind of "ologist."
If so, then you KNOW that Congress has been dicking around with Medicare reimbursement for years now and won't go through with the 20-40% cuts that were passed under Bush's regime. Sure, it needs overhaul, and it was wrong that you had to go a couple of days without reimbursement. Hence the constant band-aids. But you're going to blame that on Barry O?
Let's see...is Obama keeping you from getting a new health records system? If you're a primary care doctor then he's paying you to get one.
Taking away your medical school loan repayment program? (No, that was Perry's Texas who slashed that out. Fed still provides that perk to new docs.)
Making you work for a hospital? (No, again that's Perry.)
Is he making your malpractice premiums go up? (Puh-leeze! We've got the best tort laws in Texas for docs and in fact are attracting a lot of new docs to Texas who might not be safe practicing in another state.)
How is he KILLING you doctors. I'm REAL anxious to hear this one.

I don't care whether these are spelling or "grammatical" errors. As an American, I feel personally embarrassed every time I see a post like this.
