So, if the world economy slumps and supply goes up, I don't see oil getting much above $38 by February.
Supposedly the China market fell another 2% last night but the Dow Futures are up 100 points with no word from Yellen or Obama. The debt ceiling agreement is coming to an end Oct 1.

I feel better about my oil contracts this morning. Of course there's always tomorrow

Saudi Arabia is using $10 Billion a month to pay expenses. They're borrowing in the financial markets for the first time since 2007. Lusty Lad, this is what I was talking about them having the stomach for. How long can they stomach it?

You should put your allowance in your piggy bank admiral.

Go long. The market will be fine.

Well, my 401K is still declining and now the graph pretty much shows it off. To jog your memories, my 401K was holding steady for about four or five months. That is next to zero growth despite weekly contributions. That shows that the market is dropping in reality despite the appearance of an increase. That steady (but zero growth) trend has now become a downward trend in the last month. The purpose of a 401K is not to accrue money but to show profit. My 401K shows that profit as an area of green above the line which denotes actual investments. That green area is half of what it was six months ago. At the current rate I will be back to my actual investment in a couple of months. As I said then, the market is failing and it is being hidden with tricks of the system.

No one here knows when (or IF) this will turn around but this is Obama's baby. So break out those knee pads left wingers. You're going to have to do a lot of praying that your guy suddenly becomes competent.

Not!

Dow gave up a 400+ opening to finish down over 200... this sell-off is real.. now, it will bounce soon, and stick, but it will be temporary.. yesterday was panic-selling, today was sell-the-bounce day... no sign of exhaustion among sellers.

Marketwatch headline at 8:45 this morning.. "Chesapeake up 5%".. Mother Fucker finished down 8.77%.. I own that, God Damnit..

"We" woomby ? Do you have a mouse in your pocket or is Big Sir or assup's dick shoved "up to his nuts, in your guts" ? And hate can be a powerful motivator, if properly controlled.

Collapse, correction or corectal? I found the opening hard to believe given that China was down 7% and Japan down 3.

Anyone want to take a chance to call the bottom point wise or calendar wise?

That's just the thing, hate can't be controlled. It's not a precise weapon.

nice follow-through this morning, I'm happy to see Chesapeake up almost 6% (although I'm still way down!), and Freeport McMoran jumping 12% in early trade (I own that).. I suspect more chopiness is on the horizon, and the averages should fall further after this bounce..

my Freeport McMoran shares are in the midst of a raging short squeeze! now up 28% today, LOL!

I put in a sell order at 10.29 (currently 10.17).. don't wanna be to greedy, LOL..

already almost twice the average volume of the past 10 days, which was already huge..

Not a short squeeze, they are lowering production, cutting expenses, and firing mother fuckers.

perhaps, but it would not jump this much in a day without a squeeze.. I just sold at $10.29, price has ebbed back to $10.05 currently.. purchased 3 days ago at $8.27, 500 shares.. made $995 after fees.

nice 24% profit in 3 days.. I'll take it.
