So odd....during the family pre-game Thanksgiving meal an older relative reminisced about the famous Heidi Game, Oakland - Jets in 1968, (not sure how that topic came up....I was working on my second bottle of wine by that time so I was clueless by that time......) Anyways, lo and behold, Oakland shocks the Boys with a fumble return for a score on the opening kickoff......I thought, Hmmmm.....this isn't the Heidi Game but this certainly doesn't look good for Dallas.
So...considering the Boys gifted them a TD to start things out, it was nice to see they responded positively and took control of the game in the second half. Very good.
Well....the 4th quarter of the season starts this week. Here's a breakdown of Dallas / Philly's scheds:
(7-5) Dallas Remaining Games
@ (6-6) Chicago (Mon)
(5-6-1) Green Bay
@ ((3-9) Washington
(7-5) Philadelphia
(7-5) Philadelphia Remaining Games
(7-5) Detroit
@ (3-8-1) Minnesota
(6-6) Chicago
@ (7-5) Dallas
The team that can go 3-1 down the stretch should be in good shape to wrap things up (yes, I know if one goes 4-0, that team looks "better").
By the way.....who goes into Seattle (11-1) this post-season and comes out with a playoff W? It doesn't look like New Orleans, that's for sure! Damn, they've got an intimidating defense....a solid offense......and that home crowd is absolutely relentless. And they just seem built to win a game (Super Bowl in New York) in harsh conditions.

I was still in my Wilson isn't all that mode until Monday night. And he still might not be. I still haven't seen him look like he's thinking like an NFL quarterback, but he sure as hell is well trained if he isn't. Whoever is calling their plays is doing a damn fine job.
This is just a rhetorical question, and in spite a few teams records, is there really a defensive coordinator in the NFL, or even the NCAA who is earning their paycheck? It used to be a smash mouth defense won games, but I haven't seen ANY defense really play like they have a clue all year. There's no excuse for not knowing how the Pats will react after half time to being behind, it's no secret what Wilson or Brees are going to do and how they are going to do it. In truth QB's should be sitting on their asses in the backfield instead of getting away with murder on short slants and outs. And that deep ball fade against NO was just plain stupid defense. Remind me again why the Ryans are geniuses? I haven't seen such sorry defense across the league since I can remember.
Rant over. Please return to your regularly scheduled program.

History has this 'habit' of repeating itself. If true, the "Cows" will go into their usual December swoon and once more Dallas will not be in the playoffs.

Even if they make the "playoffs" in a shitty division does anybody really believe they can beat a well coached, real football team?

SMU???? Hell.....that pitiful excuse for a defense couldn't stop Euless Trinity......
Injuries aside, this is the worst collection of (defensive) talent Jerry's put together yet. Not even Matt Millen could GM this badly......
Say Good-bye, Jason Garrett.....Jones has never fallen on the sword and he ain't about to start.....

Jerry's legacy of losers. Team has no discipline and the coach has no huevos. Not entirely his fault; JJ had him neutered. The only thing Jerry doesn't lose is his money. This chronic losing season bullshit is getting real tired. Time for Garrett to go.
