I too do not like Trump, and am a Libertarian/Republican. I've tried to fight this battle here and gave up. If you win the battle and persuade a former believer that Trump is a nut job*, what do you accomplish? You lose the war. That person, who probably would have voted a Republican down ticket, stays away from the polls. You end up with Hillary as president and a Democrat Congress. That frightens me even more than a Trump presidency. The worst years I can remember during my lifetime were when Carter was president. During that period the Democrats had a filibuster-proof 61 senators and control of the House too. During the first two years of Bill Clinton's presidency and first two years of Obama's presidency, Democrats controlled both houses as well, and those periods sucked big time also.
This is predicated on Hillary winning the presidency. She probably will, based on the odds on betting sites like predictit.com and betfair.com. There is no way in hell I will be voting for her. We do not have a viable major party candidate for president this year, and unfortunately, as you say, Gary Johnson cannot win.
Btw, you need to read some of the threads here before you start singing the praises of SassySue again. He does not believe in freedom of speech or freedom of the press. Basically he wants to shut people the fuck up who disagree with him by outlawing their constitutional rights. And he favors leftist policies that would take prosperity in the USA down from one of the highest levels in the world to your run of the mill socialist democracy in Western Europe.
*To those who inevitably will criticize me for calling Trump a nut job, those are the words he used to describe Lindsey Graham and Glenn Beck. Actually I kind of agree with Trump on that, but he's worse than they are.
