Website design companies do not work for free nor do they maintain websites for free. So the owner of OH2 pays either an annual or monthly installments to some company that manages and supports the website and pretty sure that company has an IT department. I doubt very seriously that the owner of OH2 contacts some single individual from a third world country to do so.

And since that company has not been able to fix the problems, then he might want to get another company to handle it. You guys who think you are in good with ck1942 might want to suggest that to him.

This is where I'm at as well in my thought process. Seems like he'd hand over the reins to maybe an existing mod, someone who has contacted him with an offer or something like that. So with that conclusion/assumption, what you are saying is, ck1492 is cheap because he will not pony up the money it takes to get the site fixed permanently and correctly. I guess those who are blaming him were on the path of being right and accurate in their assessment.

It’s hard to argue otherwise at this stage of the game. Bryan is right: if he wants his legacy to survive he needs to hand oh2 off to someone who can and will be able to fix it. If Amber had made that decision when she was able aspd might have survived. I hope somehow ck1942 can do the same, but the legal environment is such that there are likely fewer takers than there was in 2009.

There's a difference in being "cheap" and not justifying a cost relative to a budget. Let's all take a step back and remember/acknowledge a few things here...

* OH2 is free to members, ad revenue via pop-ups is not only limited, but is decreasing as access is restricted to so many members
* The server that hosts OH2 is in Iceland (or is it Finland?) and therefore causes additional and unseen variables
* The website by nature is of an "alternative" subject matter and therefore would logically keep some more reputable and efficient exterior contractors away or reserved

And then other factors such as CKs age, location, the way guys treat him here, there and elsewhere plus many other potential variables are not really in our favor either.

People tend to jump on his case and lash out at him for not providing us with a smooth and efficient site, but I think if we take a look at the big picture then we begin to understand why we're experiencing such issues. If we're paying for a site and experience issues then that's one thing, but I think it's wrong for people to flex their chest with the "entitlement" attitude for sure, all things considered.

I disagree. I don't know why you are constantly a ck apologist all the time. Maybe you guys are doing stuff on the down-low? If I was paying for a service and the service was lousy, I am going not going to be happy. He may be providing the service for free to members, but he does get to dictate the rules the members have to abide by to be able to participate on his site.

If you live in a house and your roof is leaking or it is so old and worn out that you need a new one, it does not matter what your budget is or anything else, you have to pay somebody to fix it, regardless of your age, where your location is, ect. or eventually it's going to get worse and you're not going to be able to live there anymore. Or in the OH2 case, eventually all the members are going to flee the site and never log in again.

Or like your analogy, not do anything or pay the cheapest guy you can find to do a Band-Aid fix and the next time it rains the holes just get bigger, but just be thankful that the house is paid off and at least you're not living in a cardboard box under the overpass bridge, right?

What in the wide wide world of sports would make someone make the leap between being an admin of a foreign hosted escort board to being a home owner? That's some serious apples to kitty litter comparison action right there, lmao. Owning or leasing a dwelling is considered essential to most folks, so of course they'd prioritize fixing the issue? It's really going to extremes to be comparing the admin of a website to a home owner or tenant, but um....okay? Also, when making home repairs, you pool together funding from multiple sources/residents/investors/etc and OH2 has no pool to draw from. It's just really hard (as a rational thinking person) to consider this comparison a serious one.
