I think you're giving them too much credit -- by about four grades. Junior High is more like it.

It is for us, not so much for the ladies who make a living doing it. This whole world could go away, and we would be alright, if a little sexually frustrated. However, the women who provide this fantasy playground for us would have some serious life issues. They have much more at stake than we do.
I think this thread was ill advised. I understand Dannie's frustration, and anybody who has ever been wrongly or unfairly accused of something in their professional lives should be able to as well. However, it is damn near impossible to win an internet fight. It's like wrestling with a turd; you come out smelling like shit either way.
What's ironic about it is that I don't think anybody read the previous thread that this one is in response to and formed a poor opinion of Dannie. I thought that one made MissPriss look bad, and Dannie came out smelling like a rose. Any accusations made against Dannie in that thread seemed obviously to be wild haymakers thrown out of desperation, rather than credible information. Perhaps that's just my perspective, though.
Regardless, life will go on, and I'll continue to enjoy both the OP's and the OD's posts here, and just avoid eye contact and change the subject if this thread ever comes up.

I'm trying "kinder, gentler." Sporadically.

I understand the frustration and would never tell someone not to respond. You're free to do it if you like. But if you're going to respond publicly, it's best to give some thought how to do so most effectively. You and your supporters don't need convincing. Ditto for those who ignored it as wild accusations in the first place. How can you persuade those who believed the BS to change their minds, or will they still retain a shred of doubt? (Psychological research says the latter is more likely and it takes a lot of effort to achieve the former.) How do you avoid creating the impression, by those who don't know you well, that you have problems with anger and impulse control, or a tendency toward a lot of entanglements with other members of the community (whether feuding or as BFFs), or that your bias makes your statements less credible? How will those other people react to those impressions?
I rarely see this sort of thing executed well, other in the opinion of the combatants.

It's mine as well, but there are fewer of us than there should be. People might lie, or simply misunderstand, or communicate poorly and be misunderstood, etc. There are damned few people here -- maybe 5 at most -- whose statements about something like that I would believe without significant credible corroboration. To the best of my knowledge, I've never met Amber, MissPriss, Brandee, Ze, Jules, Leon, etc. I've met Dannie only twice (once very briefly at a party) and that was almost six years ago. None of them are among those 5 people whom I would believe automatically. So, when A attacks B, for me it doesn't trash B's reputation. It trashes A's reputation. (Another reason the rebuttals are often ineffective.) But there are way too many people here who believe anything they read. They're part of the problem too.

Did you mean it trashes "A's" reputation, perhaps?

As a frequent lurker, rare participant, this thread is example #1 of why I refuse to share personal information with anyone in this hobby.

Since I have no personal knowledge of what occurred, I usually ignore such threads and chalk these up to personal disputes which need to remain private.

I usually just ignore it, too. It's really none of my business! There are more important things in life than someone's so-called 'reputation' on some online board. And those who keep creating and putting fire into the drama probably deserve it, too.

There are those to be sure. There are also those with agendas. Everyone seems to have one. Tinman 1, verse 1 wisely states, it is about knowing which grey knight is most closely aligned with your own values.
You too sir have an agenda here. What it is, I am unsure, but as little as you comment on this board you have devoted several posts to this subject to date. Frankly, I don't care to know one way or another. My intent was to make people aware of a situation in which I had first hand knowledge. I don't often have that when it comes to the insults and drama that float around here. In this case I did.

A good reputation on a hooker forum is like sitting at the "cool" table in the cafeteria of the psycho ward.
