Favorite time of year to fish....most of the peeps head to the woods this time of year.....boat launches not crowded.... No pressure to get to fav spots....Just a few duck hunters to avoid.....of course I'm going way south of any of the mentioned places

I know and its dark as shit you have to go pretty far down to catch anything good.. I went to quintana this morning and caught more reds the other night I caught a 42inch red on quintana..

There is a app I use that tells you when the fish are biting it hasn't failed me yet..

Right now wading in the bay's is the best. I took I guided trip and mopped up on trout, few flounder and some channel mullet "redfish"

Still having my place on Tiki, I can easily access some of the best fishing areas.

I went out and fished Bryant beach on turkey day in freeport, caught a few croakers in the surf . Even though I didn't catch anything big I still had a blast .

I went thanksgiving but didn't catch anything exciting either but the reds are still running... I discovered a fishing app that tells you when the best times to fudh are and it hasn't failed me yet..

Every few years comes a honking blue norther that blows the bays low and kills fish that get caught in the shallow water...that's when the big ones haul ass into deep river channels to avoid the freezing water...mouth of the San Bernard River a few years ago was packed with really big reds and trout...my buddy and I ended up smashing down the barbs on Bill Norton Wigglers to more easily release them...they were so sluggish you could hardly tell they were biting but after a while you developed a "feel" and ended up hooking big ones with pretty near every cast...people in boats around us caught nothing, and I suppose that was because they never figured out how the bigass but mopy reds and trouts were just sort of gumming the bait in a half-assed fashion.

But we froze our asses off...might as well been on a duck hunt.

This past summer I gave the plugged San Bernard mouth a real effort. Even broke into my stash of old school corkeys. After the 2nd hard head on a corkey I doubt I will return unless the mouth is open.

Solunar tables. Generally speaking 2 minor and 2 major feeding times. When I fished tournaments these were called wet hook times. Great tools of the trade. Keep your own log also with as much detail as possible. History really does repeat.

Went out yesterday for a morning and evening trip. Caught 13 flounder-kept(4) by the coastguard station. Took the boat across the bay and wade fished and caught several trout up to 22" and 2 reds. Galveston is looking good right now. Come Saturday and Sunday not so good.
