Keeping us out of needless wars. We still have troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. And we all know what will happen the moment we leave Afghanistan. The Taliban takes over. The same in Iraq. It will return to what it was before we went to war with them.

Tariffs may cost American consumers more money in the short run directly on products they buy when made by exploiting cheap Chinese labor.

However, the savings in unemployment insurance, welfare, and additional taxes from people working and making products in American will more than make up for it.

Then, some people who currently do not have a job can get one, which also helps emotionally for those who wish to support their family and have the dignity of work.
