2010 was a disaster for Democrats. And in my opinion 2018 was a disaster for Republicans. Very few saw a loss of 40 Republican House seats in 2018 coming. Or 7 governor's seats. I'll bet that both of you predicted Republicans would hold the House, if you did make a prediction.

In the long run, it doesn't matter any more. It's history and people interpret history differently. I'm much more interested in November 2020.

It wasn’t a disaster. It was an historic trend, except picking up seats in the senate. We’ll see how things work out in November. I suspect it will turn out better for Trump than it did for Obama in his second term.

Trump won’t lose the Senate as Obama did. Obama had large majority’s in both chambers when he took office. They were gone by his second term. Along with 1000 state and local seats. That was a disaster for Democrats.

You are correct. The Republican House and Senate majorities in the last 4 years in office for Obama made it difficult for him to get any real legislation passed.

First, you should worry more about Trump being in office next January.

I believe in polls but even I question them at times. Sometimes frequently. I think they are too pro-Democratic right now. McGrath is leading McConnell by a point in Kentucky for the Senate seat. Peters is up by 16% in Michigan. Biden and Trump are even in Iowa. Incumbent Republican Senator Ernst is down 3% in Iowa. I don't believe it.

The latest Gallup poll was released this morning. Last month Trump was all over it because it had his approval rating positive, 49% - 48%. The new poll has him at 39% approval rating, the lowest since last October. A drop of 10% in a single month. And his approval rating on the economy has dropped from 63% positive in January to 47%, the lowest it's been since November 2017.

If the radical left won't support Biden unless he bows to their demands to defund or abolish police, which of course no President can do but BLM doesn't seem to understand that, Biden says he won't support that, will they still support him and go to the polls? Poll shows 65% of Americans against defunding police so if that is still an issue behind the economy and assuming it will get much better by then, Trump could pull this off. Biden is the one now between a rock and a hard place. He doesn't bow to BLM, he could lose some of the Black vote. If he bows to BLM, he could lose some of the White vote.


And something not being talked much about ( but it is here in Miami ) is the Hispanic vote. Headline after headline here in Miami is "why aren't Latinos supporting BLM"? Why, because historically Hispanics don't support Blacks.

You follow week to week polls. I don’t believe Trump is behind. He got more votes than Biden in the Pa primary. I think there is more enthusiasm from Trump supporters than Biden’s. I saw a recent poll that stated as much. I don’t rely on polls, you do.

I don't "rely" on polls any more than Trump does. He is VERY aware of each and every poll out there, even moreso than I am. Whenever he sees a poll positive to him, he mentions it. Whenever he sees polls negative towards him, he reacts. Last week when a CNN/SSRS poll had Trump trailing Biden by 14%, he hired McLauglin & Associates to investigate the polling methodology used by CNN/SSRS

I can put my faith in polls or the biased opinions of others, both Republican and Democratic, on a forum. I choose the former. You say you don't like polls yet you just cited one. Why? It supports YOUR POV.

I happen to agree. There is more enthuriasm among Trump supporters than Biden supporters. Yet polls show that does not seem to impact voters when asked for whom they will vote in November.

If you think votes in a primary mean anything, that is fine.

The results I have found for the 2020 Pennsylvania primary are 1.042,463 for Biden and 980,299 for Trump. 1,313,898 total votes for Democrats, 1.058,971 for Republicans. Unfortunately I looked at 3 different websites for results and got 3 different answers. ballotopia has the most votes for each candidate so whether that is meaningful or not is to be determined.
