In Europe you can't buy or own firearms in most countries there.

In some countries there you can buy a hunting rifle or shotgun but some requires you to go through a background check.

So the crazy folks and terrorists there have been using knives and cars and vans as we have seen recently.

Are they going to ban knives and cars and vans?

Is Dick's Sporting Good going to stop selling hunting knives or baseball bats or crossbows if some crazy person uses those to kill or injure a large number of folks?

Cars kill (and injure/maim) more people each year than firearms do but we don't ban cars!

The Paris attacks used ILLEGALLY obtained firearms.

They were not phased by the laws that only kept law abiding citizens from getting them.

Also, prior to the attacks, police in France could not carry their weapons off duty. After the attacks France begin allowing off duty officers to carry their guns.

Gun Laws did nothing to help prevent the attacks.

The Curtis Culwell Center is school district property so I believe it actually is a gun free zone.

What saved it was a police officer who did shoot! So yeah...Florida police just maybe need to cowboy up a bit.

What is scary is that had they gotten past or over powered security, how would folks defend themselves in a gun free zone?

Some are going to say that it would have been the people's fault for provoking the attack.

To that, I say sit down. That's a ridiculous thing to say.

I think the FBI has some "splaining" to do by not having more resources there since they were apparently aware of a creditable threat.
