Reagan
the oil business took a shit
the luxury car business took a shit
the savings and loan business took a shit
unemployment averaged 7.5 for 8 years
he raised taxes 7 times when nobody was looking trying to stop the economic free fall
he left a recession for the next poor sob to deal with
in short, thats God-like if youre a republican

It doesn't HAVE to come from anywhere. Congress could quit spending too much.
Your attitude is that all income belongs to the government, and government gets to decide how much we keep. Frighteningly sad attitude.

But you can't win a general election with only the wing net vote. Something that is apparently only occurring to the Republicans now. That might get you to 20-25%, add the Country Club Republicans that haven't turned Democrat, and you get to 40%. Now what!!

It's not the 47% percent of people who don't pay taxes do it intentionally, they can't file taxes because they are not eligible.
I have a table of minimum income requirements on the link below.
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p17/...link1000170407
If they make below the listed amounts then they are not eligible to file taxes. That could include high school students working minimum wage jobs and retired seniors who are unemployed . So for Romney to make this broad jump and say anyone who doesn't pay taxes is a selfish freeloader, who will suck on Obama tit no matter what- is making a fool out of himself.
Alot of people right now are taking whatever job they can get, that means alot of over qualified people are working in retail and fast food and most of those jobs that are barely over minimum wage and their yearly accrued wages might barely make them eligible to pay for taxes. He shouldn't be talking down about these people he should be looking for ways to empower these people, not just give up on them and just focus on the "self reliant" part of America.
He pretty much saying "I only believe in half of America- the other half can go fuck themselves, I am done trying to appeal to them"
You know you have a shitty candidate when bible belt voters would rather have someone they acknowledge as a "Muslim" over some billionaire "Mormon" .
Now we will wait for someone to claim that the speech was fake and Romney was set up.

I'min that top one percent. And I have many colleagues who are higher up in that ine percent than I am. Like most folks, we talk shop from time to time. And not once have I ever heard a soul say that they felt penalized or were going to work less because they had to pay 35% taxes on their next fee or their next well. Nor did that happen when our tax rate was 39.6% under President Clinton. The very idea would be laughable.

This just in: It's called "Red State Socialism" - LOL
The 10 "Tax Producing States" listed below, left, contribute the most in tax revenues relative to the services they consume. They usually vote Democratic. The ten "Tax Dependent States" listed below consume the most in government services relative to the taxes they pay. And they usually vote Republican. (Each state's name is shown in blue if voters there lean toward Obama, and red if they lean toward Romney, as per Nate Silver's 538 blog.)
It seems most Republican states are freeloading moochers who don't believe in personal responsibility (we knew this about Alaska since Palin was Veep nominee if anyone was paying attention. Alaska, with ~650,000 people takes in $7.6 Billion a year and pays about $2 Billion a year in taxes. 33% of all jobs in Alaska are government jobs. Plain bragged about running a state with the population of Austin that had this sort of "free and independent" budget!)

Exactly true, Skylar +1, WSJ -1.
As with many things that free-market folks forget, the gov't bankrolled it and a lot of other technologies where the reward might be very hight but the risk was too big for a company to take on.

Well, I guess we'll see how it works out. There is something very appealing about just telling the truth, even when all the focus groups indicate that lying is a better strategy. I wish Romney would tell the general population the same message he tells the party loyalists.
The Democrats show amazing discipline in religiously sticking to dishonest political rhetoric. Once in a while, they tip their hand, and reveal their true nature, like when Obama made his infamous "you didn't build that" comment. If Obama was ever honest about how radical he really is, I think most people would be shocked.
