Oy...I'd just about finished a lengthy explanation and some anecdotes on this topic and the browser wiped them out...

So...here's the readers digest version.

Men by and large, and particularly Hobbyists, are voyeurs, myself included. We love to see lady naughty bits and would be delighted if you guys sent us an email with a nude pic attached. For the uninitiated, it's not totally crazy to think that sending a pic of his junk to a provider might be similarly appreciated; thinking a woman whose job revolves around sexuality might be as much a voyeur as he is. I bet most of the guys who send these pics are newbies or wannabes who are actually trying to make a good impression.

I happen to get turned on by stimulating/pleasing women. I also have a voyeuristic streak, which by extension leads me to be an exhibitionist (as evidenced by my using a pic of myself giving a massage to a web porn gal in my avatar). How else can you please a voyeur than by showing them something erotic. The trick is to know your audience and what might be appreciated and what might not.

I'd bet that most of the guys who send these pics are hoping you will respond to them with the same level of appreciation that that they would feel if you shared something private, sexual, and intimate with them. On some level, I have no doubt that they hope you will get some enjoyment from the pics. It's really, naive, of course, but not entirely difficult to understand.

Speaking of China...a little over a year ago, when I was trying to clear her screening, and had little in the way of references, I think I sent her some pics or links to pics of me with some of my swinger lady friends, or some from my adventures in Montreal with my web porn pals as a way to establish I was not LE. While I'm sure my business was on display, that wasn't entirely the point..lol! While I eventually cleared screening, I have no idea if those helped or hurt my case...

I have difficulty understanding how someone can be so naive. Pictures like that send the message that a man thinks he can do whatever he wants to me just because I get paid for what I do. I hate being forced to remind people that providers are still ladies and should be treated as such.

These anecdotes were in my original post that got erased when I tried to go advanced (timed out)...but may expand upon the rationale.

When I was a 21 year old college student, I picked up a 33 yr old alumna who was visiting for the weekend. We were both drunk, but she had me drive her Porsche back to the frat where I lived. At the time, I was a wrestler in college and was an okay physical specimen. When we got to the room, she had me undress first, then just stand in front of her, completely hard. She gave this kind of sigh and had this look of longing on her face. It was a pretty powerful moment for a relatively inexperienced guy, but it did sort of validate the idea that a woman could be affected just by a visual, and to some degree also validated the premise that exhibitionism in the right setting could be erotic.

Fast forward quite a few years when I was first discovering the possibilities of adult chat and camming on yahoo chat. I'd noticed that more than a few of the women had nudity, some of it graphic, in their profile pics. I figured fair's fair, and my first profile pic was of my hard-on. I genuinely thought it would be well received and was consistent with the community.

I started to participate in a couple adult chat rooms interacting and looking for the occasional lady or couple on cam. I remember being in a room with a couple women who were audio chatting, and we were engaged in a decent conversation.

One or both of them checked out my profile and made a comment to the other that had a pretty obvious tone of amusement (and not the good kind), and pretty much ignored me afterward. I also started to notice how many multitudes of male profiles had cams open and it didn't take me long to get exactly how many guys had a similar idea and how sad it was.

With no small chagrin, I changed my profile pic and had some fun times on yahoo over the next few years. After that, for the most part, I only went on cam when I had a lady friend to play with me, and at those times I noticed that both men, women and couples often took an interest.

Having spent a lot of time in strip clubs and getting to be pretty good friends with quite a few of them, I know there are misogynists out there who think sex workers are not deserving of respect and who no doubt would get a kick out of "thrusting" themselves upon a provider with a dick pic for the reasons China stated. At the same time, I'm certain that there are also plenty of guys who think they are doing something appropriate, albeit naughty, and are actually trying for the erotic version of the golden rule.

I find it happens with older men versus the younger men. I have no idea why, and really dont care. I no longer plan on opening pics without asking them what they are, and making it clear NO MORE Dick shots! uggh! Exactly! Having an appreciation for the male member in person and from those you have a rapport with, has nothing to do with being repulsed by random, disgusting shots from perverted strangers! I mean seriously...what are we supposed to do? The only reason for those shots is to create a reaction...either good or bad. It screams "insecure and needing approval."

Why the same guys who won't send personal info. think it's wise to send photos is beyond me. I don't accept appts. based on physical appearance, so I don't need a photo unless it's for screening purposes. Even then, most just photocopy an I.D. and bleep out the address and DOB.
