Since when did immunity wear off? I remember learning in second grade that after being exposed to a foreign invader of some kind that the body remembers how to defend itself against that particular invader for the rest of your life. I think the reason why the cold and flu are common is because they are both constantly mutating.

If immunity to a disease or infection was something that disappeared after 6 months, you'd think everyone would be constantly sick all the time.

You gain passive immunity, or something like that, which I think means that you don't have antibodies currently circulating, but you have some kind of memory stored in your cells of how to generate the antibodies or otherwise defend against the invader. I think the reason why the cold and flu are common is because they are both constantly mutating.

I believe that’s exactly what happens with coronaviruses that cause the common cold. Immunity wears off and you get infected with the same coronavirus again. We know the Pfizer vaccine is about 95% effective at preventing infection about a month or two after the 2nd shot and the booster. But 6 months after the 2nd shot (with no booster) it may be down to 40% effective at preventing infection. You get the booster and it goes back to 95%.

I think you’re right though, the body does remember how to defend itself, just less effectively with time. Pfizer is still around 85% to 90% effective at preventing severe disease after 6 months. I read somewhere that coronaviruses that cause the common cold may have been just as deadly to older people when they first leaked to the human population. But with time they became less deadly. Maybe we’re seeing that today — over 10% of the unvaccinated, oldest Americans who got COVID died of it. But for the youngsters it’s not very serious at all. They’re gaining immunity when they’re infected. And they may have it multiple times during their lives, each time with some protection from the worst effects by virtue of the immune response generated more effectively because of past infections.

And you’re probably right about the mutations, I’m almost certain you’re right about the flu.

Sincerely,

Know-It-All Tiny

The idea of taking a mandatory shot every year for the rest of my life just doesn't make it sound worth it to me.

And whoever doesn't take the yearly booster will essentially have a low social credit score and be banned from various things.

Just give me the virus and fuck all of that horse shit.

Just get vaccinated folks. Sure, I don't like to be forced to get shots to put something in me that has no proven long term track record, but it is what it is. I waited a while to get it done, but I am fully vaccinated. I am not remotely old enough for the booster shot but if I was, I would get that tomorrow if I was eligible to get one as well... it's smarter to be safer than stubborn is the simple way of how I look at it.

Hell, it's free. It's not costing you anything other than a little bit of time to go get these shots. Get them and stay safer than you otherwise would be without it. There is no need to overthink it and make excuses about why you won't get it. Just go get the shots for your own health and for the health of those around you.

This is an interesting article about the Natural Resistance that some people may have to Covid-19. Researchers are studying why some people are resistant even if obviously exposed and how new treatments can be developed based on Natural Resistance.

LM - I respect your POV to personally get vaccinated
- the vaccines are not Free
We pay for them with our TAXES!!!

Ideally we should have the 10 minute antibody test - to rule out teh need for vaccination if positive. No evidence that vaccination improves naturally acquired immunity.

Thus - the 'jab' is about obedience for the DPST fiden crime cabal.

Interesting link, thanks Levianon. It sounds like most of the people who are resistant are probably female.

I think research such as in the article will eventually crack the code on this Covid-19 and other viruses. To think a lot of money was devoted to
"Gain of Function" research and just look what we got out of it.

Even if that's true, it shouldn't be forced onto people. We've developed a social credit system by doing that, and I'd rather take my chances with a disease than promote a social credit system.
