I've always loved sports cars. Back in the '90s I had a 512TR for a year or so, but after the novelty wore off it started looking less and less like a fun sports car and more and more like a pile of money sitting in my garage!
I always enjoyed driving Porsche 911s, but preferred the looks of the 1993 928GTS. It felt a little heavy and slow, though.
Nowadays the only sports car I have is a Tesla Roadster:
It's a real blast to drive. It handles curves like it's on rails and the almost eerie silence of the electric motor offers an interesting experience. And it's pretty quick: 0-60mph in 3.7s and SS quarter-mile in 12.6s, according to
Motor Trend.
Of course, you'll be missing that nice, throaty roar of a Ferrari V-12, but the electric motor's silence is still a novel feeling.
And it's nice to know you can play around with a high-performance sports car on an "ozone red alert" day in Dallas without joining everyone else in fucking up the air quality!
