As I said, these guidelines were in place from day one, yet were never really enforced equally on all members, and from first hand experience, it was the reaction posts after the baiting/trolling posts that were the ones the staff were actioning and the points were given to that member. Who knows why the Eccie staff are just now seeing the light.

Hopefully, it is the end of an era and this site will be the closest it has ever been to the reason it was probably opened in the first place.

A lot of that for many had to do with the level of self control when it comes to their responses to baiting/troll posts. I've had more than one person attempt to bait me/troll me into an argument. I've never had a problem in keeping my responses within guidelines. Everyone is responsible for what flies from their fingers here. If you KNOW you cannot keep yourself in check, the best response is always to not play. You cannot lose a game that you do not play.

I've been on here forever and was on aspd forever and in all that time I've only received 1 warning and 0 points. I laughed at a post lolabrea made that was off topic It's really not that difficult to follow the rules and not get points.
I will never meet or have any interaction with 99.5% of the people on here so other than get annoyed at a few people, nothing that is said on here really matters that much to me. Just follow the rules and if you can't do that then you have other issues.

I agree with a little bit of what you said. However, it is a fact that the guidelines were not governed equally to all members, and there were also points issued that had nothing to do with an actual guideline infraction. As much as you would like that certain members would not play, that is not your call to make.

You do not take things seriously on a SHMB? Then why would you take the time to cleverly word a troll post? That may be a game you are playing, but clearly taking the time to see what shit you can stir up by making it requires a thought process to tip toe around the guidelines.

Quoting/responding to a member is not trolling or harassing them as this is a discussion board as well as a review board, as long as it is within the subject of the given thread to agree or disagree with them, that is fine. But, when someone quotes a member from out of no where, hijacks a thread and takes a personal shot at the person they quoted, (no matter how carefully you word it to skirt the guidelines), trying to steer that thread in the direction of it being about the poster quoted, you do not think that is a harassing, stalking or baiting post? Perfect example: https://www.eccie.net/showpost.php?p...7&postcount=65 . IMO, it was then and given the new sticky at the top of this forum and subject of this thread, doing it again might get you an immediate ban.

Take a look at the posters who have the most and frequent posts and you will see that with this new directive, their posts and probably time on Eccie will be largely curtailed. And since you do not take things said on a SHMB seriously, then it will not be hard for you to comply with the new policy and there would be no need to think up a different creative way of wording a bait/troll post to take shots at certain members for fun and games, right?

The fact that you FEEL that rules are not governed equally does not make it a true statement. I don't get points because I don't break the board rules. That's really all there is to it. The post you opted to link above is no more a trolling post than the one I quoted. You love to speak of agendas and what not continually. Its old and its obvious baiting. You got a few people with it early on and you continue to use it in the hopes you'll snare another poster or two.

I frankly don't care who plays and who doesn't. However, if one is going to continually whine while playing, then one wonders why they continue to play. I can promise you, my stance on "not playing" isn't geared towards you. I've made the same statements to the ladies when they complain about some of the behaviors of certain posters here. You cannot lose a game that you don't play. If you cannot play within the guidelines... its always best to not engage-- particularly if you rely on this site for income.
