Cheap, I own several businesses of different types, while it is true that there are some tax write offs for insurance, they are not enough to offset the cost of insurance, maybe you should follow the Timothy Gietner (sec of treasury not sure of the spelling), plan and simply dont pay them
After factoring in the cost of providing insurance to the 60 people I employee below the managerial level, it is going to break down to this with regard to costs for me.

In order to pay for this I have to raise the cost of my products .50 a unit:
I cant do that to my customers so it comes down to this:

I am going to have to increase prices per unit .25 cents.
I am going to have to absorb or eat a .25 cent per unit loss because I dont wish to raise prices on my customers.
This was factored based on avg total number of unit sold per month. This is one of the exceptions that I have when I hear people talk about how they cant wait to get their free insurance. Nothing in life is free, someone, somewhere is paying for it.

I just wanted to put out a quick note to everyone who has participated in this thread. Thank you for a civil, thoughtful and insightful discussion. We have managed to have 77 posts to the thread without confrontation, name calling and bitterness while discussings a divisive and sensative matter. We should do this more often, I know that I too sometimes allow my Sicilian emotions to rule the day so its nice when we can discuss things, agree to disagree and who knows maybe congress could take a lesson from us.

"DD most of this is the guys who make less then 10 a hour they make the sevice work force they can't afford heath care"

Cheaper this is going to be harsh, but the reality is, those who are making $10.00 put themselves in that position. Education is available to everyone, its not my fault that someone chose to skip it and make it in the real world. I know thats harsh, but you know what, I did not come from a silver spoon world, I've gone to bed hungry, I've walked barefooted because my shoes were shit and I could not afford them. NO ONE gave me shit, NO ONE paid my way for anything. Why is it my responsibility to pay for someone who made bad decisisons in their life. You know the fact is life is a bitch, its harsh and its hard, if you dont have something you need then do what I did, get off your ass and work harder to get it. Sorry I am getting off now, this comment just struck a nerve, its been a long hot day.

Guess the love fest is over Bart
