There are a lot of one percenters whose taxes went up. They would have gone up more, as Trump wanted to increase the tax rate on top earners beyond the 43.4% federal rate (over 50% in many states) except that Gary Cohn, a Democrat talked him out of it. We've been back and forth here about the economy and while you're right, the president doesn't have nearly as much to do with it as people think, Trump's corporate tax cuts and deregulation did have a positive effect on recent economic performance.

Trump is stupid? He's only good at marketing himself? Hmmm, That is one aspect of winning an election, you must be able to market yourself. Stupid people aren't good at doing that. Trump won't go down in history as the dumbest president, not by a long shot. He'll go down as one of the most cunning and calculative presidents ever. That's true Tiny. The corporate tax cut did have a positive effect on the economy. Hopefully it will stay that way. I just finished my taxes. My rate actually went up but not much. It will really be interesting to see if the momentum will continue
