Man, has this taken on a life of it's own.
To fill in some gaps:
1) I did pm karlie that I would not do a bad review. I finally did because as I experienced a few more providers, I realized the price/service was not what I think is reasonable, and thought Austin guys should know.
2) I thought Private messages were private and ROS was not for providers. Naive I suppose.
3) I did have a lot of personal issues (what hobbiest doesn't?) and Karlie listened and was polite. I even told her at the beginning of lunch that I probably should have cancelled but thought that wasn't fair to her since we spent a couple weeks preparing and my problems weren't her fault.
4) if she is your ATF, good for you. We all have different tastes.
5) none of this was personal from my standpoint - I have nothing against any provider, but I often rely on reviews and my experience, for whatever reason, was as I described.
6) we all know what we are doing - I paid my $$ and that's it - but if others are dropping that much, it seems reasonable to know - whether ymmv or other.
7) no reason to slam Karlie - neither providers nor hobbyists are exhibiting pure virtues.

As I have already said, I never disagreed with your review, I wasn't there. I don't have any issue with you. We all have personal issues (as you said what hobbiest or provider doesn't?). Where I had the issue is other people that have no knowledge insinuating or implying that I had leaked ROS information. And to try to crucify Karlie for what I also think was ill advised, but an understandable reaction.

Other than that, she is an attractive lady who is very articulate and I've been told by a few of my clients we share that she is worth her rates as they like her. In fact, I've recommended her twice in the past. She and I share several clients and many seem to like her. As with every provider, YMMV. I think she's strong and she will be okay. I'm addressing the restaurant analogy directly. How it pertains to the ECCIE situation is only in the context of the analogy.

Perhaps because of my experience in, with, and around privately-owned bars and restaurants I am particularly sensitive to the economic damage that can be done by bad word-of-mouth. So, for those establishments that I like and am somewhat of a regular I would pass on a general idea of any bad experiences/rumors/discussions I was aware of, in the course of my naturally having contact with the people at the establishment. If I repeatedly heard talk that a favorite BBQ joint's brisket wasn't as good as it used to be, the next time I was in I would mention that concern to the owner/manager, so they could address this negative public image in whatever way they saw fit. I don't spend much time reading on-line restaurant reviews, but if I saw a complaint about the over-priced/low-quality guacamole at one of my favorite Mexican places I'd let them know about the complaint the next time I was there. I want these places to be successful, so I want them to know about any information that could hurt their business.

I can think of at least two places that I would actually make a phone call to let them know about particularly bad word-on-the-street. These are places I have been to frequently and where I know and like the owners. At one place I know the owners name only because her kids happen to participate in some of the same activities as mine. At the other I only know their names because it's printed on the menu and I'm sure they don't know mine, but they recognize me, I recognize them and we have a friendly chat when I am at their place. For me, concern for their well-being is enough to go out of my way to give them a heads-up.
At one of these places I sometimes get a free sample of a desert or salad they are trying out so I can give them some feedback. Or occasionally an appetizer on the house if it's the kind of thing that doesn't keep well to the next day and they made up more than could sell. So I suppose they might choose to give me free meal or a free drink the next time I was in. But that wouldn't be my motive. At the other place I've never received any sort of deals or specials and would not expect to.

Again, I'm talking about me and restaurants. How any of this relates to the specific provider and clients in this situation is only by way of analogy.

I don't know if I am standing up for her, or just bewildered by this whole thing. I have known Karlie for almost a year now, and have seen her regularly over that time. If Tbone poured out his "personal stuff" to her over a lunch date, then over the time that I have known her, I must have burdened her with perhaps 10x or more that amount of "personal stuff". Never once has she breathed a word of it to anyone, not even to other providers she knows that I am also friendly with. I have asked her casual curiosity type questions about other guys I know who enjoy her company, and she never, ever told me a scrap of information. As I said, this is all bewildering and unfortunate.

I can see why you like Karlie. I have always thought karlie exuded a lot class and poise. She's very articulate and has a great sense of style and self. I suppose that is why I was so shocked. We do have our differences when it comes to fake boobs. I'm not perfect by any means a am a woman if a million flaws. AKB, it is clear you have a big heart and were citing the facts about the whole debacle and have been a major support system to a friend in need. I have about 4 clients I know of who absolutely love karlie and have nothing but great thinks to say about her. She will grow stronger from this, I know it
