I can't make a Tryst profile, trying to sign up and keep hitting a
block with the process on the user info. Really frustrating.
I'm Team LustyBustyGina38FF. Gina, you are awesome.

Well, Well, Well.
I lost count of the thread drifts, insults and rudeness.
Couple thoughts:
1. Play nice.
2. This thread is about OH2 technical issues. Nothing else
And, leave the name calling and other comments behind.

Thus far this morning, I keep getting hit with the "The connection has timed out" on my desktop but my puffin app on my phone is allowing me smooth and seamless access.

If only one type of internet browser can give you access, while with all the others you can't get in, then no matter how hard you try to brush it off, stand up for them and pretend nothing is wrong, OH2 still has major technical issues.
They have had these same issues for so long now that it is past the point of ridiculous. I am pretty sure that eventually, there will be problems getting and staying logged on with the one app that is currently allowing you to get in.

Agreed.
I haven’t spent much time researching it, but the Puffin mobile app does have an intriguing architecture that might make it superior to better known browsers for perusing the hobby internet. Probably deserves it’s own thread (there may even be one in another forum; I’ve not checked into it yet), but am curious what the tech security experts think are its pros and cons compared to Edge, Safari, etc.
Still, it shouldn’t matter which browser folks decide to use, the issues should be addressed…if they can be.

I used Puffin to log in with my cell phone, but keep
getting the do you wish to proceed prompt.
so I'm jealous of y'all

I think you may need a subscription for the desktop version, but not the mobile app. At least, that’s what I read this morning.

I think folks overestimate the amount of people that are involved. I see comments made about IT departments and technical personnel and the like. But I don't think that's how it works with OH2. Like, there is no "IT Department" consisting of a plurality of people. I'm probably a little off in my assumption here, but I envision a situation where CK emails a dude in Iceland every so often saying "hey, can you fix my site?" and then a few weeks later he gets an email back saying "Sure, I'll look into it when I get a chance", I really don't think there's much urgency or initiative being taken to improve things. I mean, it's a free site so why would there be any urgency or a collective of resources working on getting it all back online?

For all,
Yes frustratingly fun.
I suspect everyones internet virus/protection software is having issues with the OH2 site certificates.
Some browsers just can't handle that.
I mod Houston and Austin and both have similar threads.
Here's my status: I primarily use chrome. Since this started several months ago, 99% of the time I get in, yesterday is an example.
But, I'm a bit of a techie.
So here's my point, until the techs at OH2 resolve OH2 tech issues (site certificates is a big one), this situation is going to continue regardless of browser anyone uses.

Bryan, I am under no illusion there is an IT staff, per se, at ck1942’s disposal. It’s not like he’s generating revenue through subscription services or advertising to pay for such a thing, but if he’s going to run a site for thousands of users (which was the case a year ago; not so sure that’s still true) he should have sufficient resources to insure the site is reliable and secure.
Personally, I would have shut the thing down months ago. I applaud him for starting and maintaining the site for all these years. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for doing so. If he isn’t going to fix its problems, though, it’s time to let others take a crack at it, whether it’s TrulySummer or someone else.
