While I would not be a big fan of sex and politics at the same time, I like when I get the chance to mix them in series.
The thing that sold me irrevocably on swinging...although I had dabbled here and there, I had not really put a lot of effort into participating:
It was 2004 and I was training for my first deployment, and had a weekend pass. Managed to attend a swinger event at a nudist campground up north.
While I had a lot of fun at one time or another, the thing that sticks in my mind was getting into a hot tub MFM 3some, while some other members of our group were off to the side talking, and occasionally watching us and the adult children of the campground proprietor were skinny dipping in the pool a short ways away.
We stopped to take a break and I went to join the group and proceeded to sit, spent and bare assed naked , and have this really engaging political discussion about the war, foreign policy, and the like. The group was a nice mix...we had the conservative body guard from Pittsburgh and his stripper wife, a staunch liberal from Toronto and his Jewish gf from Montreal, and a few others.
It was awesome. Everybody was respectful, and I doubt anyone changed their general position in the political spectrum. At the same time, we did listen to each other and got some appreciation for the positions represented. It was pretty cool.
A few months later, I had become pretty good friends with the Jewish lass and we had a MFM 3some in Montreal with yet another of our swinger pals, which was also pretty cool.
