Dallas 2-3 vs Wash
Philly 2-3 @ Bucs
Wash 1-3 @ Dallas
Giants 0-5 @ Bears

Another pitiful week for the NFC East

I love how football brainiacs come out of the woodwork and dog-pile Tony Romo after a loss. People....are you not watching the games???? Not only is he playing against the Broncos' defense, he's also making up for the inexcusable play of this so called revamped Cowboys' (miserable) defense. (Note: recall Dallas taking a 21-10 lead vs San Diego and the Dallas defense couldn't get Phillip Rivers off the field the rest of the afternoon)?

If we're going to single out individual players, let's take a look at the other side of the ball.....where the hell is the (over-rated) DeMarcus Ware? Week in and week out he must be going against Future Hall of Fame offensive tackles because he's not even getting close to the opposing QB. It simply amazes me....Romo throws 5 TD's, 500+ yds and General Furrburger posts a thread that he choked. What more do you want this guy to do?

A few plays before that ill-timed INT, look how the field position got tilted......How about (pointing the finger at) Dallas' idiot special team's player flagged with a holding call (when he wasn't close to the action) on Dwayne Harris' kick return to midfield?

Without that penalty in a tied game and 2+ minutes on the clock, the Cowboys would have been more conservative with the play-calling by getting the necessary yardage via the running game and some low-risk, short passes.....and then it's Bailey setting up for the winning FG.

Romosexual Alert: "It's not Tony!" oooooyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaa aa!

Reality: Romo had a check off man open right in front of him (running back). Instead he tried to force it (yet again) into coverage. At that moment, and for that decision, it was all Tony. He threw that ball. No one else did.

Even I will admit Romo had a great game. Great stats, yet Tony just can't seem to win big/important games. Ask Danny White about that syndrome.

Jerry didn't make that pass (to an opposing player) that was ALL TONY. But yes, Jerry Jones sucks!

The Cowboys are saddled with a $60M quarterback who will never win the crunch games. He is not not mentally prepared for it. You can talk about all the defense, penalties, plays...in the end it is where you land...in the W or the L column and Tony just can't BRING IT when it counts.

The rest of the league knows, too. Just like they know the Cowboys have a dimwit for a GM. You know what? We're watching this game and two of us CALLED IT before it happened...interception...yep.

Actually Prolongus, Romo was the best option of a bad lot of qb's. The qb's of this past draft blows so I won't kill the cowboys for resigning him. That said the cowboys should have groomed a qb all along to have a viable option

I actually thought my cowboys would get the shit knocked out of them. Anyways we are still in first place. I am sticking to my 9 and 7 prediction which should win the division and get into the playoffs

T D, I'd predicted an 11-5 record for Da Boys mid-way thru the exhibition season but I'm making a 100% retraction now that I've seen what this squad is really made of. And what they've got....on defense....is total garbage. We wanted to blame Rob Ryan for his schemes but that wasn't it all. His schemes are fine and doing well in New Orleans. It takes players....talent.....ability. And Dallas simply does not have any of that on the defensive side of the ball.

To go 9-7 as you've suggested, Dallas will need to go 7-4 the rest of the way. So....in essence....lose only 4 more games in the next 11.....on the heels of amassing 3 losses already in only the first 5.

The numbers don't add up. Especially since Dallas faces the following QB's the rest of the way:

Drew Brees
Matthew Stafford
Jay Cutler
Eli Manning
Aaron Rodgers

Each one of them are capable of throwing 400+ yds per game and multiple TD's against this sieve of a defense. And 4 out of 5 of those qb's are capable of hanging another Loss on Dallas' record. That means no margin for error in any of the other games.

Dallas can only hope they achieve another 8-8 record this season. And to do that, Romo may have to have games akin to yesterday's effort in order to outscore the opposition.

In 1989, Jimmy Johnson gave Jerry the blueprint for future successes and championships on a silver platter......and Jerry the Wheeler Dealer GM has chosen to ignore the most important edict in football: Stop the other team from putting the ball in the endzone.

And for God's Sakes.....Denver may go another decade or two before they play another game where their punter never sees the field.....he could've stayed home and watched the game from his sofa yesterday. What an embarrassment. In 29 years of coaching, Tom Landry's teams never allowed such a thing to occur.

But hey....easier for the bashers to blame Romo for the sins of an idiot owner / GM, right?

The one thing i will say CB since I used to gamble on the nfl, teams are very close. I can't explain how dallas will go 7 and 4 other than to say our division stinks. So it is very possible to run the table in the division. I didn't think Kansas City would be undefeated at this stage before the season started. If the cowboys don;t win the division it is time to clean house.

Dang exciting game and great entertainment........sure kept everyone's attention to the very end.

Denver actually has a pretty creampuff schedule.
1. Ravens (3-2)
2. Giants (0-5)
3. Raiders (2-3)
4. Eagles (2-3)
5. Cowboys (2-3)

Denver is 5-0 Games left.

6. Jaguars (0-5)
7. Colts (4-1)
8. Wash (1-3)
9. Chargers (2-3)
10. Chiefs (5-0)
11. Patriots (4-1)
12. Chiefs (5-0)
13. Titans (3-2)
14. Chargers (2-3)
15. Texans (2-3)
16 Raiders (2-3)

Pretty easy 12-4 ending record to me. They have changed the rules to favor the offense, so now defenses look like crap....but I don't see defenses slacking off....just outlawed a lot of defensive technique. Smaller rosters and a few injuries and teams get into binds.

Still was a great game to watch!!

At the rate he is going, Eli Manning May throw 400 interceptions before he throw 400 yards.
