The notion that Hispanics are somehow a threat to "old white men" is fallacious. Most Hispanics in this country consider themselves "white" and count themselves as such on the census. Many Hispanics in New Mexico trace their family ancestry back to conquistadors who secured Mexico's northern frontier before the Gadsden Purchase.
