Texans got their asses thoroughly whooped on Sunday.

If they lose to the Colts on Thursday they might not make the playoffs. And if they don't make the playoffs they need to let BOB's ass go!

It neither makes me happy or unhappy.

I was looking for an explanation from the league rules committee as why it wasn't pass interference. I'm not a homer but that was egregious.

If calls like this aren't overturned, there's no reason for the rule. IMO, the rule shouldn't exist. The reviewability of nocalls are mainly from the backlash of the NO/MIN playoff game nocall.

There's just too many instances of the refs unnecessarily being involved in the game. Too many penalties every game. Too many reviews. And that's with almost every kickoff going for a touchback.

gnadfly, personally I think it's a ego thing. The refs don't like being questioned. They did not want replay and especially did not like expanding it. They will stick together and not try to harm each others reputation. Union allows them to gang up.

Just their petty way of making it a joke, so it gets removed. Some would call it passive aggressive behavior, I don't see it as all that passive.

My stance is use it fairly and honestly or get rid of the entire system and deal with it.

In any case, the on field officials need to be judged, questioned by the media and fined (just like the players) for their egregious mistakes, and make the fines public.

Texans took care of business last night. Even though they had issues stopping the run, the defense stepped up when they needed to at the end.

Watson and D-Hop must've went out and had drinks or ran through a few chicks the night before because they were connecting on those long passes.

Patriots are next. And they have a much better defense than the Colts, even though the offense has been struggling as of late. But they're still the fucking Patriots(best record in AFC so far)!

Good rebound win for the Texans. I fear however, which ever team comes out on top of that division, it will get beat down in the first round of the playoffs! Also think the alleged experts are remiss in saying the Ravens are now the team to beat in the AFC. Last year in the playoffs the Pats strolled into Arrowhead and closed out the deal. Hate them I do but if they play the Ravens in any venue, who will bet on Jackson over Brady in a clutch game?

I might take that bet. The guy is playing QB at a level that we haven't seen since Mike Vick except I think Jackson has a more complete grasp of the offense that Vick never really had. I never thought he would be as dominant as he is. Just goes to show you what coaching a player up can do.(Take note BoB) His receivers understand reads the way he sees them and they block for him. The big question is : Can he stay healthy? Cuz he does take some hits.

If it came down to a Pats/Ravens matchup I wouldn't be so concerned with Brady vs Jackson. Their offense is struggling. I would look for Belichick to put together a defensive game plan like they did against the greatest show on turf in the 2002 Super Bowl when they punched the high flying Rams right in the mouth on their first play and had the receivers hearing footsteps for the rest of the game. Then take advantage of mistakes and turnovers to put easy points on the board. Of course Jackson adds a dimension that Kurt Warner didn't have so there is that.

I think ultimately the way to slow Jackson down is to not let him find his stride. That means stifling defense and long sustained drives that score points, puts the Ravens on their heels and tires their defense out. Some good ole smash mouth football.

As for the comment on the division, Yeah the AFC south will represent the worst division in the NFL once again and make a quick exit from the playoffs.

Correct. The Ravens put in an offensive coordinator and scheme that enables Jackson's game. They also put personnel that increase Jackson's effectiveness. Big TEs that can block, release, scramble and give him outs.

Jackson's style will eventually get him hurt. Defenses adjust. Don't expect him to have the same season next year. Same with Watson but don't count on BoB installing an offense that makes the best use of his talents.

Here's food for thought: That could have been Kaepernick. Baltimore was trying to sign Kap to a contract to back up an eroding Joe Flacco. A year later they draft Jackson and start him in the later half of the season. Then they release Flacco and Lamar is having an MVP season. All because Nessa called the owner and Ozzie Newsome racists. And Kap's kneeling would have played in Baltimore.

I can't see myself attending a Texans game because I couldn't stand the 3 to 5 minutes lull everytime somebody adjusted their jock. That and paying $20 for a beer. And having to listen to "And another Texans FIRST DOWN!"

But at least I wouldn't have to listen to Chris Collingsworth. I'd rather read a Sistine Chapel thread.

I was wrong. I just KNEW this would be an L.

The Texans showed their asses last night by doing something they rarely do. Beat the Patriots. And also keeping the #1 spot in the AFC South. I imagined if the Patriots had recovered that onside kick near the end it would've been a different ball game, as the Texans fell asleep and let Tom Brady throw all over the field on them the last 3 minutes. I've always said you gotta keep your foot on their fuckin' throats because they'll find a way to come back.

This Patriots loss also knocks them from the #1 spot, which belongs to the Ravens for right now. Being that both teams are 10-2, the Ravens get the edge by beating the Patriots a couple of weeks ago.

The Texans may have a new worry within their division. Normally it would be the Colts, but now it's the Titans. They face each other in two weeks in Tennessee, and will play again the last week of the season.

The remainder of the season is like this:

Broncos
@ Titans
@ Buccaneers
Titans

The Texans pretty much need to win out, and it would be nice if they do. I predict them going as far as the second round of the playoffs, as usual when they win the division. If they gotta play the Patriots or the Ravens in the second round, this WILL be an automatic "L" and season over.

Once again, good job of them beating the Patriots last night. It was kinda funny to see Tom Brady cussing out the receivers for running the wrong route. Also Belichick was pissed, basically the whole game. He was really pissed at the end when Bill O'Brien extended his hand out to him and he just walked on by with his sore loser ass! Fuck the Patriots, I'm glad the Texans beat that ass last night!
