While the article includes some legitimate although overstated criticisms of the process that led up to the decision, I give Trump credit for what finally happened. If a single Iranian commander was responsible for shooting down the drone, launching a strike that would have killed 150 Iranians as collateral damage would have been a wildly disproportionate response. The original idea of the Pentagon, to retaliate in a way that would produce no casualties, sounds a lot better.

Im glad that Trump acted in such a presidential and responsible fashion. Good job by the CIC. Hopefully we will be able to come up with some type of treaty that creates some type of stability to a region that has been squabbling for thousands of years
