Miss Howard (are you the three stooges sister?), why are you attacking me? I pointed out that the thread had deviated but answered the previous posts. I'm surprised that you didn't attack the initial person moving the goal post. Me thinks it says something about you and not us. As for your moron comment. Go pick up a dictionary and do some reading.

I will also remind that my first post on this topic was about our reliance on Russia for our space program such as it is.

I also have to call you out on your OP. You cut and paste some article. I doubt you checked the facts or gave it much thought. It just kind of sounded like something you should be in favor of. An opening post (if it is serious) should express some of your thoughts on the topic. The relationship between Russia and the US has become strained because of Snowden? Things have been strained since Russia refuses to assist with Iran or Iraq, Russia is selling tech to terrorist nations, Russia is selling warships to Red China, Russia demanded (and got) Obama to back down on eastern Europe and the missile defense shield. This is all old news. You came to the table late so don't complain about where you were seated.

"Fathoming Putin's intentions towards the Americans is difficult. Ask senior Russians how Putin sees America and you get two different answers. One is that Putin would like a business-like relationship in which the two sides can deal with common challenges, like terrorism, Afghanistan, Iran, Syria and so on – even though they will often criticise each other.

Putin understands that the US is the pre-eminent superpower and that he must work with it on some of these issues. Therefore Putin personally backed last year's Exxon-Rosneft deal – perhaps worth up to $500bn – to develop hydrocarbon resources in the Black and Arctic Seas. The other answer is that Putin really is paranoid about the US. He takes at face value the often-insincere rhetoric of American politicians about the importance of spreading democracy and human rights. He thinks that the US will inevitably try to intervene to overturn regimes it dislikes as it did in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Serbia.

Putin does not distinguish between Republicans and Democrats, believing them all to be interventionist. This upsets some of Obama's people, since the US president and Secretary of State John Kerry opposed the Iraq war. This hostility to America explains the clampdown on Russian non-governmental organisations that get foreign, and notably American, funding. Both these views of Putin are probably true. He switches from one face to the other, which makes him a difficult partner for the Americans."

No it's not. But when someone bullshits about how brilliant the guy is and references his rise to the Harvard Law Review as symbolic of his intelligence, then his academic performance does become an issue as a baseline for incompetence .. because he was promoted on the basis of "affirmative action" rather than scholastics.

.... he's a snake oil salesman and some on here are still intoxicated with his potion.

CJ, he was. He just was. Everybody knows it. It's time affirmative action is exposed for that it is and what i's doing. It's dumbing down our population.

JD, no, Russia not joining us in the God Forsaken Iraq War was not a strain on our relations. Snowden in and of himself hasn't. The importance placed on him because of his base line "intell is important by a president that takes things way to personally.

... you are wrong about the Harvard Law Review, and Harvard Law School.

Harvard Law School has had an "affirmative action" entrance policy with disparate standards for minorities for 30 to 40 years, at least, with scholarships and assistance to facilitate their passage through the school.

If you think Obaminable was accepted on his grades and LSAT, then produce them.

If you think Obaminable was "placed" on the Review based on is academics ..

.... then produce them. He hasn't. You can't.

As far as what I do for a living or anyone else on this "anonymous" board ..

......... it is none of your fucking business you loud mouth piece of crap.

nobody really thinks you're a lawyer anyway ...

Actually I was not referencing the war and I did not mention it. I was talking about the lead up, the sanctions (that made the "god forsaken" war necessary), and the aftermath. Russia has been only on the side of Russia.

What did we (the U.S.) gain from invading Iraq or Afghanistan? What did we gain from fighting in Vietnam? What have we gained from trying to tame the middle east? We do so much for other countries and people I don't see how you can ask that question.

Sigh, then be more specific. Normally when a country is still embroiled in the last dregs of a war and someone mentions the country we're at war with, normally, people assume it's the war they're talking about. I've go too much to do to give any due diligence to the comments until tomorrow. See ya then.

Defense Contractors benefit from war.

I have only been saying it for ten years....

It is a transfer of wealth from the middle class taxpayers to a wealthy few taxpayers. Something you right wing shits used to be against. Oh wait, you are only against transferring taxes from the rich to help the poor.
