Mr chick fil a can have an opinion about gay marriage but he has no power to do anything other than vote for people that share his opinion. Rham is actively attempting to use his elected office to harm a company that is managed by the person he disagrees with. There is a big difference between the two. Rham has the right to pass laws supporting gay marriage if he can, he has the right to publicly disagree with Mr chick fil a, but he does not have the right to prevent a company from legally doing business because he disagrees with the opinion expressed by the manager of that company.

No I do not think it is an insult. I think you think it is an insult. Big difference.

No , I have said he can think what he wants. But he gives money to politicians that will mandate how others can behave. Government intervention.
If he was giving money to say that Jews could not marry, wanting to pass a law aganist them marrying, it would be the exact same thing. His hate is shown by his actions. Instead of just him not marrying a Jew or a Gay , he wants the government to mandate that they can not. Just like the idiot mayor wants to mandate that he can not do business in that city. He/You seem to not like it when the shoe is on the other foot. If he were just not for it and did not want the government to mandate his views, I would have no problem with that.

Again I have no problem with him expressing his views ...it is his actions that are BS. Just as the mayors are but they are both asking government to mandate things aganist citizens. It is total BS on both sides.

He is not just expressing an opinion, he is activly trying to mandate laws aganist gays. He and you do not like it when the shoe is on the other foot!

I think both are wrong. Chick for activly supporting politicians to mandate and Rham for doing exactly wtf Mr Chick is doing. Which is having politicians mandate others actions.
Chick shoud stick to selling chicken and not hating on the gays and Rham should stick to screwing over the folks in Chicago

dang goobers!
This is ironic. A fair percentage of you guys are screwing around on your significant other and ya'all got your panties all wadded up about same-gender marriage!
On second thought, no, you all will not get the irony of the situation. Whatever, ....party on dudes and as always, let's be safe out there.

What he is doing is donating his money to his candidates just like you and everyone else does. As a vehement non-Christian, I can 99% guarantee I do not agree with his choice of candidates, but I support his right to legally bribe any politician he wants to.
(Political donations are a whole different topic of ill will for this country. I donate more to causes: Planned Parenthood, Organic Food Growers (I hate Monsanto and the whole GMO industry.) and bio-identical and supplemental pharma industries. The last candidate I gave money to was Kinky.)
I digress, anyway, the actual crux of the matter is elected officials are using their bully pulpit to effect the LEGAL commerce of an individual or organization simply because they disagree with the opinions of the business owner. That's wrong to the point of being a Inquisitionish, and it mustn't be tolerated.

You and millions of others give money to candidates that he does not like. That is how it works. Both candidates have the money to make their case to the voters and the voters decide.(Personally I prefer to give my money to providers that have sex with me and not whores in politics that simply try to screw the public.)

I understand wtf he is doing.
I am not for politicians discriminating against another group of people. Mr. Chick does that, hell one could argue that we all do it to a certain extent.
What I find strange is that some of you are not seeing the irony of what Mr. Chick wants done is the exact same thing that some of you folks are bitching about Rham doing.
I suppose we all have our own sense of fairness, I find it fair that what Mr. Chick wants to happen to others is happening to him. Would ya'll think it ok if a person on the left gave money to Rham and then he went after Mr. Chick? That is the only difference. Mr. Chick is just paying another to foreward his agenda.
I have said repeatedly that I do not agree with either. I have said that I have no problem with a person expressing his personal preference, I do not care for Mr. Chick trying to force his personal preference down the throats of others. No gay person is asking him to marry another man. No gay person is trying to get married at Chick Fil A.
It is no different that some on here telling our lovely providers that they must see everyone. That is not right in my book, yet that is what some think should happen. It is a personal choice. Mr Chick is the one trying to shove his agenda upon others. Not sure why some of you think that ok, even if you do not agree with him on gay marriage. My problem is not his personal choice, my problem with anyone trying to tell another how to act when that action has no effect upon them other that they do not like it. What kinda of world would it be if we did not tolerate actions of others that we did not agree with? Getting married should be a personal choice , just as where one locates one business.
Finally do not people that oppose Mr. Chick have the same First amendment right to disagree with him. Do they not have the same right to impose his standard of government intervention into his life like he is trying to do to others?

Yes they can disagree and even I do disagree. Rham can donate his own money to any stupid candidate or cause he wants just like mr chick fil a. What he cannot do is deny a legal company the right to do business legally within a city he is the mayor of because he does not like the owners opinions.

Agreed.
Nor should we as a country allow a group of people to bribe our politicians and deny gays the right to marry.
We should not allow that. We are better than that. Mr Chick is just as wrong as Mr Rham.
I am not sure why that is so hard to understand. I come down on neither side. You seem to think it ok for Mr Chick to empose his will on gay people.
I understand that you do not agree with his views but you are backing him. Why? Would you back his first admendment right to change the laws to make it illegal for gays to eat at Chick Fil A or Jews or Christians. It is wtf the old SOB is doing. It is wrong, wrong , wrong.
I will never come down on limiting a person right to speech but I will not support a person that tries and pass laws that discriminates aganist another group.
You see how strongly you oppose it when Rham does it, why not the same vigor when Mr Chick tries to do it? That is wtf I do not understand.

Where we disagree is that I do not think mr chick has the power to FORCE his view on anyone. All he can do is voice his opinion and support others that agree with him. If Rahm limited his response to that as well I would support his right to do so. Rham's statement that he wanted to keep them out of Chicago went too far. As mayor he could use his power to try to force his opinion on Chick Fil A.

Well, WDF. I suppose you don't use gasoline or oil, because some of that money supports governments where gays are killed.
You just want them to be able to marry so you can watch them from the back and giggle at them.
