The best way to make that happen would be for the university to cancel the upcoming football season.

I hear Joe Pa's family is now trying to claim that he retired retroactively to 1997.

To be fair, everybody here that is against child rape and who has helped sexually abused children stand and raise their hand. Ya, that's what I thought - no one. It's irrelevant.
Great take on the matter.

Those who are citing the lack of NCAA rules violations as a reason the football program should be allowed to continue are completely missing the point. Nobody cares about the NCAA rules as they pertain to Penn State. They broke the rules of common decency. I will agree that it isn't the NCAA's place to impose a punishment. It's the job of the Pennsylvania state legislature. Penn State is a state funded university and it is the state that needs to oversee the university and pull the plug on the football program. ASAP.

Why not just ban hiring any Penn St alumni that graduated from 1998-2012. That outta teach them not to support their university!

The kids can find somewhere else to play. It won't be a problem. They'll get good scholarships, too, and won't have to be embarrassed the rest of their lives because they played for Penn State.

assuming theres scholarships available and losing a year of eligibility doesnt matter to them, along with a host of other issues that effect the kids more than it would an adult, the college football world is a perfect place.

typical rightwing bullshit ... the adults fucked up so the kids are guilty by association, hammer them too.

Outside of having a little empathy for the athletes I could give a shit about Penn State ... SEC here we come. GiG Em'

I thought the purpose of college was to learn. I don't watch sports on tv and don't care who wins what. I do care that our public high schools have college sized stadiums and marble floors.... But lack proper pay for "qualified" teachers.

I believe this culture of ours puts emphasis on entertainment over education.
Look at the current crop of idiots coming out of our public schools and universities. Sad.

As for Sandusky ..... Balls off and 30 seconds alone with each victims father or mother. A good weekly raping would be a start. But do keep him alive for that shit. He deserves a loooong painful life.

Joe pa.... Dig him up and cut off his balls. He certainly didn't use them when he had the chance. Burn.... Piss on .... Rebury.

Anyone else who could have helped.... Good amount of prison time and
Make sure "Bubba" knows that they HELPED a pedophile.

Penn... Don't shut down program . Make them set up a fund for the victims and donate the next ten years of tv and endorsement revenues to the fund.
If they want a program.. Let them keep just enough to pay For the lights and lawn care and I'm sure the nutcase alums who love that dump would pony up for the program.

IMHO
That's an interesting solution only bettered by forcing those who are found guilty of aiding in this cover-up to be forced to read each and every one of WTF's nearly 8,400 posts...

Oh the humanity of it all...

Scholarships are always available for good players. And when Penn State or the NCAA closes the program, I'd support making an exception regarding the eligibility rules for players transferring from Penn State.

The SYSTEM needs to be punished, and reformed, from the top down. That includes staff, coaches, donors, students and alumni. We need to rethink our obsession with athletics in this country.

when SMU was shut down, the players were allowed to go else WITHOUT losing a year

how is this a left/right issue?

how fun with your last place finish in the SEC, too bad your closest place to travel is Baton Rouge, are you going to make that Florida game?

bullshit ... excellent schools with excellent football programs dont have limitless scholarship programs ... Im sure a really good player could get a free ride at a school thats down the list but as for a BCS ranked team, dont count on it.
