Lemme see if I got a handle on this "responsible" thingy that you speak of:
- An armed teacher responding to a deranged loon seems responsible
- A school resource officer (cop) responding to an armed loon seems responsible
- Local politicians providing funding to support both of the above seems responsible
- Local school teachers providing their input to the students 'risk' or 'opportunity to improve', aka deficiency reports, seems responsible.
Without focusing on what is irresponsible, the above responses require other things, proactive things even, i.e. before you respond:
- Understanding the risks
- Planning of risk mitigations
- Funding to do so
- Having a 'will' to do so
How 'responsible' and effective was that $30 sign that says "Gun Free Zone"?
