If Jim Webb says otherwise, he is entitled to his opinion. Even if I personally feel he is wrong on that particular issue.

The Constition does not say, or even imply, that I must agree with a candidates position on every issue.

As for gays, the parade is what it is and I don't hear the gay leadership condemning these actions. Compare to the Tea Party that you all love to hate so much. Do they run around naked? No. Do they dump shit on the street? No. Do they offend the sensibilities of regular people (libs are offended by everything)? No. What does the Tea Party that you find offensive (and we know you have)? Wear funny hats? Carry signs that you don't agree with? Not fall for the promises of a president that pretty much turned out to be false anyway? Someone stand up and defend this gay pride parade.

perhaps you were lashing out unreasonably without having reviewed the record. . the statement was being made that gays should be treated equally, I was responding to that, so the valid inference was that there was such a claim that gays didn't previously have equal rights
