Small point of order though, its pretty controversial amongst Muslims. In fact it's only the Shia Muslims which allow Nikāḥ al-Mutʿah (pleasure marriage). The Sunni sect rejects the legitimacy and permissibility of it.

Shia represent only 10-13% of the world's Muslim population. So it's hardly a universal thing that "Muslims" do.

I do find it hilarious though! I guess in a way it's not so different from Catholics doing whatever they please and then going to confession/doing penance afterwards to 'clean the slate'. Funny how all religions which repress human nature find the need for these sorts of 'release valves'.
