The other factor, and forgive me if someone else has already pointed this out, is that girls under "management" tend to have a NBA policy dictated to them by "management" to prevent other "management" from poaching the talent in cases where said "management" is of a particular ethnicity.

Racism is not the only explanation for some policies.

Coming from a different area and background, I am forced to agree with BSB about the prevalence of racial issues and it was quite a shock to see those issues inflamed by various ethnic groups.

As a side note, before anyone starts with "providers have personal preference just as hobbyists do", please allow me to say you're not exactly mixing apples with apples...hobbyists generally choose providers primarily on their physical attractiveness, reputation, and donation...maybe not in that order for some but those are the main contributing factors. With providers... eehh, not so much. The 65 year old, 50 pound overweight, balding, and down right physically unattractive hobbyist probably isn't any providers "type" and wouldn't have a chance with a lot of the women on here if it weren't for this hobby.

So while many would argue that this isn't racism, I would most certainly argue that this race-based discrimination is racism and is nothing more than certain providers manifesting their racism, subconsciously or otherwise.

Any comments or opinions whether they differ from mine or not are more than welcome, and also information on if this discrimination is common place or not would be nice to know. Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading your replies.

I'm partial to blind gents myself. My manager says it's better if no one ever finds out how bad I really look in person!

Okay maybe I'm overstepping a little, but I felt the need to add my two little pennies into this since I'm hated on a lot for this. It's not just Dallas. In Arkansas it's the same way. Thing is, I'm black (entire family is loud and country) but I refuse to see black men. I refuse to date black men. Am I racist?

I've been called a sell out, whitey lover, "your mother must hate you", etc. If I'm going to fuck strange men I at least want to believe I have a choice on who I see.

I will say that while visiting Dallas I was called a monkey for the first time by a potential client. He told me to go back to Arkansas where I belong because Dallas has enough of my kind already. Then he called me a n**** Staff Edit BV.
#2 - Derogatory racial remarks are simply unacceptable, period. Disrespect another's ethnic background and you will most certainly regret it. http://www.eccie.net/announcement.php?f=782

Well, I'll be damned!!

He called you a WHAT! And it's probably one of those that love to hoot and holler about it being her choice and shit when they come back on this board. You see, as long as they have the upper hand and get favorable treatment, the rest of the world doesn't mean shit to them. They throw away what many others would eat, because they're allowed the privilege of doing so.

Well, sorry you had to go through that, even though you're ummm, well, you know. This is me speaking, but, given you what you know now, I'd be little careful about what bridges you set on fire. You might need that MF'er sooner than you think, and it could be hard to get back across without it.

Funny how the worst of what the black guys have to offer fucks it up for all of us, yet the worst of what they have to offer doesn't do a scratch of damage for them.

That's MY line!!! I love the blind market - they don't have to try as hard with me for IOP. I know, that's sounds offensive to blind people but not meant to be.

I'm terribly sorry, I can assure you that's not how most men in Dallas would treat you. That's embarrassing being a male here and have people saying that kind of stuff...just wrong. You're a very pretty, obviously smart, LADY.

MaryBeth, I'm sorry that this happened to you. I can't imagine how painful that might be. But if I might ask, why would you let the color of a person's skin dictate either who you date or who you see in the hobby? Because, yes, as I see it, you are certainly implying the inferiority of, or at least a showing prejudice against, black customers. At least I can understand white racism and prejudice (yes, they mean different things) being borne out of ignorance (though in most instances I think it's malicious). But you have forgotten more about bigotry than most of us white folks will ever know because of your life experiences. That is just baffling beyond belief to me.

I'm speechless but I'm not surprised, either. I go for morning walks and occasionally some idiot will yell the "N" word at me out the window as he is driving by. I hope you come back to the family now.

This topic always makes me laugh, like get the f over it. You don't see black providers making a thread every week about getting less buisness than our white friends. Its freaking life and there are bigger things to cry about.

I fail to see the point you were trying to make...So you've been, at the very least verbally abused by at least one white client, probably more..and you didn't ban anyone who happened to share that persons race?

I'm guessing the reason for your refusal to see black clients has to do with some previous transgression a black client/person made in the past. Yet in that case you felt the need to ban anyone who happened to share his ethnicity and didn't grant any black client thereafter the same clemency you obvious grant to your white clients. You asked are you racist...probably not, not completely anyway ... but if you aren't pimped or being coerced or manipulated in some way, your post makes you sound and look incredibly ignorant and yes, slightly prejudice against your own race. I would venture to say it's probably the former, not the latter.

It was a question...No one is "crying". Based on your statement, I would suggest you re-read the topic of this thread.

Actually sounds exactly like crying, why wont the white woman fuck me wahhhh!!! Your not the first to bring up this topic and you wont be the last. They wont change thier rules so get over it. We are not fighting for freedom here.

Us as providers have to go through alot granted when its good its amazing, so we all have rules to make things easier on us so none of you have a right to judge any of our rules. Even if its racism sexism ageism or whatever its for our own sanity.
