The only reason the left favors illegal immigration is because they think it is a cornucopia of democrat voters. Now and future generations. That way they will be guaranteed power in perpetuity.

Think I'm wrong? Who always bitches when voter ID laws are mentioned? Hmmm?

Helping someone to a better life has absolutely nothing to do with it. If it did they'd be spending more of their efforts getting immigrants into this country legally instead of defending the illegals.

Arizona had it right. Enforce the laws already on the books.

I had never heard that I was in favor of illegal immigration. Thanks for enlightening me.

I would also like to point out that Mexicans are not as dumb as anyone things. I am sure they understand what "Peligro: Hazardo Electrico" means. Mexican people can actually be pretty smart. Most of them are geniuses when it comes to illegal activity like drug dealing, stealing, making fake documents, and burying bodies of women they've raped and killed. One thing they aren't too good at is driving drunk. You cant drive down Riverside any given weekend without several crashes.

End prohibition of drugs - it's pretty damn simple. It's a losing battle and it's time we try legalization and drug prevention programs ala Portugal.

The situation in Mexico is much worse than what's being reported, and it's spilling over all around us and penetrating into every part of the US.
Things are pretty damn bad here too, but our criminals have Ivy League educations, wear suits, and work in the government/banking/pharma/oil industries.
Drugs are legal in our country, but you have to see a priest in a white coat to get them, and the profits must flow to big pharma.

The pharmaceutical drug problem, as well as white collar criminals, make cartel violence acceptable? Wow.

Well I'm a first generation Mexican I.e. my parent was illegal and we employ illegal mexicans in our restaurant; we make a lot of money not paying their taxes for our employees, yet we do pay them the minimum wage and over time; i.e. So all of their children&healthcare are paid by government services; but as their children are born here they may continue the cycle of entrpenuriship and create new businesses&growth, a win win situation for America

Wrong. The bad outweighs the good in these cases. Also, why are Mexicans so cold and unfriendly compared to American-born Mexicans in restaurants? Has anyone else noticed this?

This is the whole damn problem. Nobody objects to Mexicans or other immigrants coming here to try and better their lives, we just can't afford it as they entrench themselves into this cycle of dependency.

If you were illegal in another country you might be a little introverted also.

What's your opinion on the Americans who have spent a generation or two on welfare, etc?

This is headed in the wrong direction. Welfare etc is a completely different matter from the border fence. There's more white people on welfare than minorities the last time I checked. The original question was about Cain's statement about an electrified border fence. My assertion is that to call this a "killing of Mexican's" is absurd. Most coherent people, irregardless of what race they are, won't throw themselves on an electrified fence, won't purposely walk into a minefield or anything else. As I've stated, the numbers who WOULD do something like that are 100 times lower than the many Hispanics that are currently dying every year trying to cross the border and who are dying from exposure, lack of water etc. In a recent year that number was over 500. A properly controlled and enforced border would lead to a much lower number of deaths.

My opinion is that it is not good. Given human nature, I'd put more blame on the system then the individual in either case.

So.. you only had one parent? (it's a miracle). You're a first generation American (read, anchor baby). My taxes, not the govt. paid your healthcare, schooling, et al. And now also your employies and their children. Continue the cycle of welfare not entrepenership. America paying for its own takeover of leeches. Do name your restaraunt so I don't spend my money there, y'all get enough of my tax money already. Deportation, not education. Thread hijack.

Simply having a Mexican restaurant is not enough to help the economy. Roads, infrastructure, health care, law enforcement dont rely on money from thin air. It comes from our pockets, Pedro.
