I gave this thread some serious thought. As I was writing my opinions, and that's all they are, ideas and points came to mind and, as I proof read (past tense), the final piece looked and felt dicombobulated to me.

Agreed. As I undersrand, and dare I say interpret, the Constitution does not mean the militia has to be organized. No more than evey farmer or homeowner has to be organized. Just too many citizens to care for.

The idea for the thread was a good one, but with almost 250 years of interpretation and redefining of the law, it was flawed from the word go. As the end of the Enlightenment Era came to a close, the shot heard 'round the world would start the march toward liberty. Now . . . let's talk slavery and the Native experience.
