Sportfisherman, All good points. The Waco Kid referred to our president as Lord Emperor Trump. We'll, you're seeing more and more Republican politicians say that the Lord Emperor Has No Clothes. It's probably a dilemma for many or most of them, one that Hedonist and ICU and others have discussed. What do you do when you have real problems with Trump the Man, but you believe his economic and foreign policy is better than the alternative? By appearing to follow him like lemmings and justify everything he's said and done, I believe they've done themselves more harm than good. This will manifest itself in two weeks when Democratic Politicians end up controlling the Senate and the House. And doubly so if the Democratic congressmen decide to end the filibuster and pack the courts. If they'd just defeated, say, George W. Bush, they wouldn't go that far. But politics has become so partisan and so divisive, in no small part due to President Trump, that they just might do it.

You might have missed my reply to earlier your post, but yes I have. If you're into fishing, surfing, and attractive hookers and are willing to pay $100, Jaco it is. If you prefer quantity over quality and a somewhat cooler environment with the amenities of a city, then San Jose.

I don't think you need to expend effort to convince us Trump is not a Liberal. Though I think liberals are not any more either. They seem to have slid on past Progressive and gone straight Socialist. If you must know, Trump is a Pragmatist. See a problem - fix it.

So you are saying QAnon is a terrorist group?!? As evidenced by what? For example: I know Antifa is a terrorist group - as evidenced by their militarism and tactics, as well as assaulting people, setting things on fire - be it people, buildings, cars or forests.

The FBI declared QAnon a domestic terrorist threat in 2019.
Apparently Trump doesn't know about them.
I acknowledge that while some things may be better for me with Trump ( I am a lifelong conservative Republican ) they are far outweighed by his negatives.
At some point I have to vote what is best for my country and as an American first and not just my own self interest.
Plus I don't really believe Biden will be some overly aggressive president.Things will even out.
I'm into Fishing and hookers !!

i didnt read all the posts ,
lots of the usual insults,
but i will answer the original question with what i believe the answer to be for this is a question ive had for many years and having the perspective of being a registered democrat for over 45 years i will provide what i believe the answer to be. This would define democrats of my generation or long time democrats .
first , demos or libs arent dumb, they are just programmed to a belief system that has to be constantly reinforced with reasons and emotional tweaks that somewhat feed the beast .
Ill start at the beginning , one wanting to follow policy or is exposed to an issue of value or hears other issues that sound relative to an individual. they make a lot of sense and create a adopted viewpoint or a particular way of seeing things. These answers wrong or right create an adherence to them which in time create a mindset and a connection to the democrat party. Over time with constant reinforcement through media and emotional tweeks this attachment grows to the point where the issues may change the answers may change but rather than following the original beliefs that established a connection the individual looks for answers that maintain the allegiance to the party .
the reason for this is that the individual wants to see the party as the same as the original belief, and to see it different negates values that generated the belief in the party originally . It is human nature to be loyal and after years of devotion many need reasons to adopt a view they disagree with as the issue creates a conflict and is the conflict worth more than years of devotion. So when there is conflict the individual is looking for something to avoid the negation of years of devotion or attachment. Also you hear the common term they all do it and this is nothing more than a vehicle to get one to accept something they may totally disagree with.
So as the party may change its beliefs the loyalty is maintained by various twists of truth or rationalizations that the struggling individual can be nudged eventually to adopt the new party belief even if it is total opposite of the original belief or what brought them into the party in the past
also this mindset can be so ingrained to the point where corruption and dishonesty are ignored. They have reached the point of blindly adopting an overall general belief that ascertains for a greater good and truth , honesty, the constitution and overall well being of all is irrelevant. This is the definition of socialism , and this is where many democrats blindly exist.
When a democrat gets to a point where the truth outweighs the twists, the corruption and the rationalizations he turns away and that is where me and many democrats find ourselves.

Now trbc don't be ugly.
I don't call your intellect into question.
I know there are smart educated professionals on this board that support Trump.
For the life of me I cannot understand why and more so How they can do so.

not to tighten my own tinfoil hat, but by what measure does US intelligence figure that Q is a "terroristic threat". It's literally some kids on 4chan and twitter doing cryptic fortune cookie shit.
If it's just a conspiracy theory, why treat it as a terroristic threat, unless there's some nuggets of truth in there?
All seems a bit sus to me.

Getting back to the title of the thread
sf - i agree - "For the life of me I cannot understand" - and U are incapable of understanding.
and devotees of XiNN will never understand - even as their DPST controllers shepherd them into the railway cars to the concentration camps for disposal of any and all non-radical marxists!
Terror is already extant with OBLM and antFa on the WEst coast - and will be used to spread DPST total control of their Amerika!
AnyOne not on board with the DPST Groupthink - Omar and Tlaib have an answer - "Exterminate"!

Have not heard that. Why is it a domestic terrorist threat? What is it? I gave an example of Antifa which could easily be used in the dictionary definition of it. How has this QAnon, that you speak of, i.e. you or someone you personally know, been threatened or intimidated today or any day by them?
We can talk about the credibility of the FBI in another thread and explore why so many at the upper levels of it have departed non-voluntarily in the past year.

Let's start small. Do you believe he will be President and in control if he does get elected?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I never considered using some standard in the decision making process. That's totally new agey thinking. I've typically gone with ye olde fashioned two-factor decision making process: Am I still breathing and do I have money in my pocket?

I did not declare them so.The FBI did.
I do not personally know anyone into it or been threatened by them.I have read of the despair of grown adults who are concerned about loved ones who have gone off the deep end with QAnon.
I think the exodus from the FBI is the same as throughout the Government.
Trump is purging the DOJ,State Dept,CIA,and FBI from anyone who will not follow his playbook.
It is typical of Radical Right Wing Fascists who want to reduce or eliminate dissent. Not just in government but with the media too.
Yes I believe Biden will be president and in control. There will not be any radical changes.Certainly there will be a few.Nothing as drastic as put forth on here.Just a move back towards the middle from the Far Right shit now.
The fishing and girls thing is for when you are in Cabo and just kind of a game that Sportsmen play.
You maybe don't actually have to catch a fish to go to Toro Bravo.
It just makes it more fun if you have.
